Description
Device for recovering sunken ships. The invention relates to a pontoon which is used to lift sunken boats and the like, which is secured with chains or Cables and hooks are attached to the hull in such a way that the hooks are attached hangs in holes drilled through the outer skin of the ship's hull. The invention The aim is to restructure the pontoons in such a way that they are vertical with little space requirement swim in the sea and easily use the compressed air to displace the water pick them up so that the pontoon is capable of being carried or lifted. For solving this Task is the essence of the invention mainly in 'that the lifting rope attacks inside about halfway up the pontoon and through the open bathing the pontoon steps outwards.
Any devices can be used to produce the holes in the ship's skin used «-erden; the illustrated train car with mecha-. nischer drilling device is chosen as an example only.
In the drawing, the invention is in an exemplary embodiment illustrates; they are: Atxb. z View of the hook plate, Fig. 2 View of the hook stand, Fig. 3 Side view of the plate and the stand together, Fig. 4. Section of the with the hook plate attached to the sunken ship, Fig.5 section of the Wanduni; of the sunken ship with a drill brought out through a Hole in the hook plate drills the ship's wall, Fig. 6 Section along line a-b of the Fig.q., Fig. 7 Section of the ship's wall with a hooked pontoon.
The pontoon i consists of a hollow cylinder closed at the top and open at the bottom made of metal with a reinforcement band: 2 in the middle or at the point where the hook cable 3 is connected and the tension is strongest. At a Pontoon about dm in diameter and 22m in length will have a trotting ability of about 2i2 tons reached.
The cables 3 are secured by hooks d. and eyelet 5 on a pair of elbows 6 on the inside of the band 2, which is welded to the cylinder wall and with the pieces can be connected again by welding. Both cables 3 end in a ring 7 which is hooked into a hook 8 of the hook plate 9.
The pressure block io on the outside of the pontoon i takes the side pressure on and is supported by a strut i i with a head i i a. The printing block has a length of about 2 in and distributes the from the diagonal pulling direction of the cable side pressure originating over a considerable area of the pontoon and ship wall, also keeps the pontoon in a vertical plane parallel to the ship and prevents it any rotation of the pontoon about its longitudinal axis.
The facility enables the sunken ship to turn at an angle Can be lifted, but despite the inclination, the pontoon retains its vertical position Position at and the tensile stress acting on the loving cables remains the same. Further the pulling effect of the pontoon on the hull is thereby greater Area of the ship's wall distributed that several hooks 13 in several holes of the ship's skin be hooked in and all hooks are connected to the two cables, whereby the ship's skin is only exposed to a moderate pulling effect at every point of attack will.
The procedure followed in this distribution of stress is the following; First, the heavy hook plate 9 is placed next to the sunken hull S settled on the sea floor. The plate 9 has above the hooks 13 a series of holes 12, which serve to guide the drill 14, with that of a work space 15 on a vehicle 16 from the holes for the hooks 13 in the The ship's skin drilled «to earth. The hook plate rests on the stand ga, from Rails 17, 18, ig and rests next to the ship's hull on the sea floor, to support the hook plate against the ship. - Are all the required holes Drilled into the hull of the ship, the pontoon is placed on a drum 2o of the vehicle winding cable 2i nierlergeholt and the ring 7 in the hook 8 so that the pontoon, as shown in Fig. Q. 7 and 7 show connected to the hook plate is. Then the pontoon is slowly raised to remove the hook plate from its stand to free, and then drifts through one as the pontoon continues to rise Pressure of the rod tip 22 against the plate 9 the hooks i3 into the holes in the ship's skin so that the pontoon is now anchored to the hull (Fig. 7).
It is important that a number of hooks 13 are hooked into the corresponding holes in the hull in order to distribute the pulling effect.
If you want to attach the pontoon to a sloping hull or on the Create the stern or bow of the ship, so you can use a pontoon which the open pontoon end is widened to a nose, so that in this case too the pontoon need not give up its vertical position in the water.
