Abstract
Metal wires (1) are twisted into several layers (7, 8, 9) around a core (2) in order to obtain a cable for overhead lines. Reinforcing elements (3, 4) are located between the wires (1) and are twisted with them at the same pitch. The reinforcing elements (3, 4) are non-distortable bars having a rigid structure and consist of reinforcing fibres and a hardening reactive resin. The reinforcing elements (3, 4) are completely surrounded by metal wires (1) and are protected against ultra-violet radiation.
