Das Wesentliche dieser Verschlufseinrichtung - für gröfsere Oeffnungen, wie sie z. B. bei Retorten oder Oefen, bei Latrinenfässern u. s. w. vorkommen, besteht darin, dafs der Druck, welcher die Abdichtung des Verschlufsstückes gegen den Oeffnungsrand bewirkt, nicht gegen die Mitte des Verschlufsstückes, wie bei Mortonthüren u. s. w., bei denen bekanntlich der gegen die Mitte oder den mittleren Theil des Verschlufsstückes ausgeübte Druck sich auf den Rand übertragen mufs, sondern unmittelbar gegen den Rand des Verschlufsstückes ausgeübt wird, wodurch eine bessere Gewähr für dichtes Abschliefsen dieses Randes geboten ist.The essentials of this locking device - for larger openings, as they are, for. Die Mitte dieses Verschlufsstückes bildet die unten geschlossene, oben offene, innen mit Gewinde versehene Vertiefung d, in welche der mit Handgriff versehene Schraubenbolzen e eingeschraubt werden kann. Der Bolzen sitzt drehbar in der Nufs /, welche mit einer Ringnuth g· versehen ist, in der die kugelförmig gestalteten Enden der federnden Schienen ft stecken. Diese gehen durch Aussparungen im Kranz i und durch am Rande des Verschlufsstückes angebrachte. Oesen k hindurch und greifen mit ihren Enden unter die haubenförmigen Nasen / des Futters α; die Nasen sind zum Eintritt der Federn h an einer Seite offen.In Fig. Ι and 2, the closure device is shown on a wooden floor (Fafs, etc.).
