Description
The invention relates to a method for recovery riding especially in the development of x-ray films used fixing baths, in which the used liquid ge is cleaned and subjected to a silver recovery process. The invention further relates to a device for performing of the procedure.
When developing films, these are developed according to Ver leave the developer bath fed to a fixer in which the unexposed and therefore not reduced silver halide washed to make the image fade resistant. Therefor a sodium or ammonium thiosulfate solution is used, where a sufficient thiosulfate excess must be present in order to obtain a thorough removal of the unexposed silver halide Act.
The fixing bath also contains sulfite, which is the Fixer protects against decomposition and a hardener, e.g. Alumi nium chloride, which the gelatin emulsion on the film in tuned hardening way. Furthermore, the fixer is still acidic or ba added components to adjust the pH.
Silver complexes are formed during the fixing process Some of the water is difficult, some of it is easily soluble, and is removed from the bathroom are taken, whereas thiosulfate, sulfite and hardening agents ver need to be.
So far it has been common to remove the used fixer baths X-ray departments and graphic businesses from a waste disposal company to be picked up by the contracting company that desilvered the baths and then drained into the sewer with official approval Has.
It is known to fix in large photographic laboratories reprocess the baths after the desilvering, which thereby ge happens that a compiled according to empirical values and Always the same mixture of fresh fixative and desilver bath in a quantity matched to its total amount sets and this is then used again. Only very much inaccurate reprocessing may be appropriate for this application are sufficient, but not in the development of X-ray films to which highest requirements with regard to a long shelf life of up to 30 years, low haze values and constancy of the Contrast.
From the use of prepared fixation baths for X-rays Genfilme is still different from the professional world Reasons not recommended, namely because Ent gets into the fixing bath winder with frequent reuse and thereby increasing con concentration can cause a yellow haze on the film because halide ions get into the fixer, which leads to an sufficient fixation can lead, and because ultimately, apart from these possible qualitative defects it is assumed that the Saving fixing solution in no reasonable proportion the effort to be made. The recommendation therefore goes there a used bath for the fixation of X-ray films not to reprocess it, but always with a fresh one to replace the attached bath.
The invention has for its object a method for processing especially in the development of x-rays film used fixer to show the qualitative one excludes fines on film that can be used economically, and in particular the environmental impact previously accepted eliminated.
The object is achieved according to the invention solved that a predetermined amount of cleaned and desil a liquid for analysis of their composition it is taken that the sample to a distant from the place of use Central body is sent, which is the sample of several Fixer users analyzed each, and that then wireless or wired information to the respective place of use is given, which indicates or from which can be determined, which missing components and, if necessary, water and in what quantity the amount of liquid that was taken from the sample have to be so that these again the prescribed together setting like a fresh fixer.
The invention thus overcomes the prejudice of the subject world by analyzing the cleaned and desilvered Fixing bath is determined exactly which components in what amount is missing, which is then a given amount of Liquid must be added. There is no need for the Abtrans port of the used liquid through a disposal facility take and the environmentally harmful disposal through this, being a particularly high level of economy results from the fact that the analysis for several fixer users on one of each Place of use is carried out from central location and by there the addition of the amount of wired or wireless individual components is controlled. This eliminates the Necessity that every user of fixing baths the techni human and personnel requirements for the implementation of a Must create analysis for small laboratories in medical practices and Hospitals tend to be too expensive. It is sufficient, if the laboratory uses a small sample of the used fixative to the central analysis location, from where the exact destination instruction comes, which quantities of which substances the consumed Fixer must be added to its composition to bring it back to the level of a fresh fixer.
A particularly advantageous device for implementation tion of the method described above consists of a Unit that a first container with sufficient Fassverver like for use in a given period of time liquid, a filter, an electrolytic cell, a second Containers with a given capacity to hold the Liquid after passing through the filter and electrolysis cell, one storage container each for the stock to be added parts and one metering pump each for introducing the additives to be added Contains ingredients in the second container. The fixing bath The user then only has the one-time cost of the purchase such a unity, which he then only corresponds to him transmitted values obtained from the analysis needs.
It is convenient if the unit is electronic Contains data processing arrangement, by which in accordance with the entered analysis values the missing quantities of the to be replaced Components can be calculated and the metering pumps can be controlled accordingly are noticeable. In this way, the activity of the fixer User and thus the risk of errors and mistakes reduced to a minimum.
The units can differ according to your needs different sizes can be manufactured and also trained mobile.
In den Zeichnungen stellen dar:The invention is described below with reference to the accompanying Drawings explained in more detail. In the drawings:

Fig. 2 is a schematic, perspective presen- tation of a device for performing the method.
Referring to FIG. 1 consuming te fixing solution is filled in a first container 1. This happens, for example, until the capacity of the container or a pre-specified liquid level is reached. The size of the container 1 should be such that at least the accumulated in a given period, for example on a day or in a week de consumed liquid fits. Depending on the degree of filling of the container 1 or another criterion, the cleaning and desilvering process is then preferably initiated automatically, ie from the container 1 , the fixing solution is passed into a cleaning device 2 , which consists, for example, of an activated carbon filter which consists of the liquid dirt components , Gelatin residues and halide ions removed. The cleaned liquid speed is then freed of silver components in a silver recovery device 3 , which consists, for example, of an electrolysis cell, and then placed in a second container 4 , which has a predetermined and preferably the same capacity as the container 1 . It is possible to give the desilvered liquid in smaller batches one after the other from the device 3 into the container 4 , but the container 4 can also be filled continuously and the desilvering carried out in a circuit between the device 3 and the container 4 and for as long be continued until the content of the container 4 reaches the residual silver content required for reuse, whereupon the desilvering process and the supply of further liquid into the container 4 are stopped. A sample for analysis is then taken from the container 4 , the filling quantity of which is known. The analysis can be carried out by the user of the fixing bath, preferably the analysis values are determined in a center which is responsible for several laboratories and to which the samples are sent from widely dispersed laboratories, and from there via a telephone line or by radio into a entered in the laboratory data processing arrangement 5 , which processes the analysis values and determines which constituents and in what amount of the liquid in the container 4 must be added in order to bring the liquid into the state which a freshly prepared fixing bath must have. The amount can be tailored to the capacity of the container 4 , however, an amount of liquid in the container 4 can also be measured and the need for addition based on this measured value. The data processing arrangement 5 accordingly controls metering pumps 6 , which transport the required amount of constituents to be added into the container 4 from storage containers 7 . The reservoirs contain, on the one hand, the constituents thiosulfate, sulfite and hardening agent that are consumed during fixation, as well as a basic and an acidic component for setting the necessary pH value, which may have been changed by developers carried into the fixing bath and by desilvering. Each of the storage containers 7 is assigned its own metering pump, a metering pump for water being additionally provided, with which the concentration can be influenced.
Fig. 2 shows an apparatus for performing the method described with reference to FIG. 1, wherein for identical parts the same reference numerals as in Fig. 1 was used. Before the device is designed as a compact unit in which all the elements shown in Fig. 1 are summarized, which can be set up in a size adapted to the needs in a laboratory.
The invention is not for the preparation of fixatives bathing for x-rays or x-ray films limited, it can in the same way for the preparation of used fixers baths are used in graphic factories and photo laboratories.
