Description

Hot cathode tubes for generating electrical vibrations, in particular for the purpose of wireless telegraphy. In high vacuum incandescent cathode tubes, such as they are used in particular for the purpose of wireless telegraphy to generate vibrations are used, are preferably used as anode material tungsten, tantalum, molybdenum or similar valuable substances. Replacing these metals with cheaper materials is quite difficult because of the conditions for high and pure electron emission then can only be sustained with difficulty. The reason for this is to be found in that from the replacement metals after the venting process is complete, especially when exposed to stress .the tube, gases are still being released. As a result, when using Substitutes very quickly deteriorate the functioning of the tube, since this depends essentially on the quality of the vacuum.

The aforementioned valuable materials, such as tantalum, tungsten, molybdenum etc., as tests have shown, they have the property that when they are used during the pumping process are sufficiently freed of gases, later, especially under stress, gases again take up.

According to the present invention, this property is now the Valuable materials are used in the same way that the most essential structure the anode or anodes made of inferior material, e.g. B. iron is, while parts of the anode are of high quality in the most stressed areas Metal, e.g. B. of tungsten, tantalum, Mol3 # bidän attached to such an extent are, i that the gases released from the inferior metals from the pieces high quality metal are absorbed. The precious metals tantalum, tungsten or molyb @ den then act like a sponge, inrdem they automatically absorb the from the Inferior metal released gases Idas vacuum the tube at a constant value obtain.
