Chromgusseisen-Legierung.
Chrome cast iron alloy. Chrome cast iron alloys with 0.5 to t% carbon and 15 to 60% chromium have a high resistance to corrosive influences at normal and higher temperatures. However, the fracture structure of such alloys is quite coarse, which severely affects the strength and reliability.
Tests have now shown that a significant refinement of the grain and a noticeable improvement in the strength properties of these chromium cast iron alloys occur when these alloys 0.5 to 25% at least one further, an improvement in the strength properties and a refinement of the grain cause Metal included.
For example, the flexural strength of a chrome cast iron alloy with around 2..8% carbon and 34% chromium is increased by adding around manganese from 38 kg / mm @ to 75 kg / mm2 while at the same time improving the deformation of 3.2 to 9.4 mm.
The hardness is increased by the aforementioned addition of manganese by 260 Brinell units. 450 Brinell units. At the same time, there is a considerable improvement in tensile strength and, in particular, in wear resistance, so that such manganese-containing chrome cast iron alloys can advantageously be used for the production of objects that are exposed to high wear, such as draw rings, roller plugs, cylinder sleeves.
At the same time, the addition of manganese causes an increase in the already existing corrosion resistance at low and high temperatures. Furthermore, the alloys are easy to work with. If gravity die casting is used instead of the usual sand casting, even better results can be achieved with regard to the properties mentioned.
For example, the already mentioned chrome cast iron alloy containing 2% 14Tangan as a cast iron gives a flexural strength of about 112 kg / mm 'with a deflection of 10.8 mm, while the hardness reaches a value of about 600 Brinell units.
The manganese content of the alloys can range from about 0.5 to 25. Nickel can also be used as a metal which improves the strength properties and refines the grain, so that the manganese can be replaced in whole or in part by equal amounts of nickel.
The addition of nickel also has a beneficial effect on the corrosion behavior of the alloys mentioned. For example, an alloy cast in sand with about 1% carbon, 33% chromium and nickel has a flexural strength of 111 kgfmmz with a deflection of 10.4 mm, while the corresponding alloy without nickel only has a flexural strength of 52 kg / mm 'and has a deflection of 4.2 mm.
As a permanent mold casting, the aforementioned cast alloy containing nickel even has a flexural strength of 144 kg / mm 'and a deflection of 15.3 mm. Simultaneous additions of manganese and nickel are particularly advantageous. With the addition of tungsten, molybdenum, cobalt, vanadium and titanium, for example, further improvements can be achieved.
Chromium cast iron alloys that contain 0.5 to 4% carbon, 15 to 6,070 chromium and 1 to 6% manganese or nickel individually or mixed, in particular those with 1.2 to 3.2% carbon, have proven advantageous , 28 to 45% chromium and 1 to 6% manganese or nickel, individually or mixed.
