In the case of gas pipes with built-on explosion flaps, the major disadvantage is often
that the lid of the explosion flap is too sluggish when explosions occur, so that
more or less great damage can still occur. One is as a result
went over to attach tear surfaces to the explosion flaps. But these have the disadvantage that the gas through
ίο the destroyed tear-off plate can escape into the open unhindered.
The present invention now relates to an explosion flap in which the disadvantages mentioned are avoided and any interruption of operation, even if an explosion occurs, is excluded. This is achieved by means of explosion goggles which are provided with a tear plate on each half and which can be rotated about their central transverse axis and which can be brought in front of the explosion opening with each of their halves. The device can be made in such a way that the rotational movement of the explosion goggles is automatically initiated by a deflector each time, so that the other half of the goggles automatically reaches the explosion opening and closes it after one of its tear plates has broken through in the event of an explosion . The new explosion flap is shown in Fig. 1 and 2 of the drawing in cross section and in side view. A weight lever δ is rotatably mounted about the axis c on the explosion flap housing α. On this weight lever, the explosion goggles d can be rotated, which has a circular tear plate e on each of its halves. Once in the gas line ί an explosion occurs, the underlying in the 'drawing Zerreißblech e is destroyed and the explosion gases can escape. As a result of the explosion pressure, however, at the same time the lower half of the glasses is pressed from their seat, whereby the weight lever δ about its pivot point c deflects correspondingly far upwards. During this movement of the weight lever and the glasses, the latter is pushed so far to the side by a deflector f attached to the housing a , which is arranged at an appropriate angle, that the glasses rotate around the weight lever δ in the figure shown in Fig. 2 Arrow direction. This rotary movement is also supported by the shape of the glasses themselves and by a counterweight g attached to the other half. As a result of this rotary movement, the other half of the breastplate now comes in front of the explosion opening, so that it is closed again and the escape of gas is prevented in that the weight lever δ, which is falling down again, presses the new half of the breastplate onto its seat. Now the destroyed tear plate of the now overhead bridge half can be exchanged during operation and replaced with a new one, whereupon the bridge can be returned to its original position.
The pressure of the explosion roar on its seat could also be done by spring action instead of by weight. The deflector f expediently consists of a sloping or curved gesteUten curved guide piece with a respective cam h o. The like. Cooperates at the periphery of BrUIe.
