Elektrode für Erdungen. Bisher wurden zu Erdern für Schutzerdungen Platten, RÖhre, Bänder usw. aus gewöhnlichem oder verzinktem Kupfer und, wo dies zu teuer war, aus verzinktem Eisen hergestellt. Die Verzinkung hatte den Zweck, die Elektroden vor chemischen Angriffen durch die Humussäure des Erdbodens und vor ähnlichen Einflüssen. zu schützen. Bei verzinkten Eisenelektroden, die sehr weitgehend angewendet werden, .macht .sich aber die Tatsache sehr störend bemerkbar, daß Zink und Eisen irrt feuchten Erdreich eine galvanische Zelle bilden, sobald der Zinküberzug das Eisen nicht ganz vollständig bedeckt. Die hierbei auftretenden elektrischen Ströme zerstören aber das Eisen noch schneller, als es ohne die schützende Zink= Schicht der Fall sein würde. Um das Auftreten von solchen Strömen zu vermeiden un'd dennoch billiges Eisenmaterial für die Elektroden verwenden zu können, werden nach der Erfindung Elektroden aus einer Legierung verwendet, die z. B. aus Eisen mit einem Zusatz von 0,3 his o,5 Prozent Kupfer besteht. Elektroden aus diesem Material sind wesentlich :billiger als renne Kupferelektroden und halten den zerstörenden, aus dem Erdreich stammenden Einflü.ssen sehr lange stand.Grounding electrode.
