Abstract

A roof sign for passenger vehicles essentially comprises a plate which is provided with an inscription and is arranged approximately transversely to the direction of travel, in a manner such that it can pivot, on a cross-member which is attached to the roof of the vehicle, for example to the rain trough. Known roof carriers of this type have a high aerodynamic drag and produce wind noises. In the case of the new roof sign the intention is for the aerodynamic drag and the wind noises to be minimised. The new roof sign has a recess for the plate and a pivoting spindle, which are arranged in the roof of the vehicle, an aerodynamically shaped fairing being provided for the plate, which fairing is mounted in the direction of travel in front of the plate. The roof sign can be used in different vehicles.

Description

The invention relates to a roof sign for vehicles, in particular another passenger car, in which a ver see sign about across the direction of travel on the roof of the Vehicle is arranged.

In known roof signs of this type (DE-GM 83 29 291, US-PS 37 61 890) can be a sign with a label that is arranged transversely to the direction of travel, in an approximate cuboid containers can be folded. The container is on a cross member, for example on the gutter of Vehicle roof is attached, arranged. The well-known roof signs significantly increase the vehicle's air resistance, generate wind noise and pose a latent risk of accidents for other road users. At one in the FR-PS 12 16 351 described roof sign, the sign is inside a panel body pivoted. When folded back The body's shield has an opening for the wind represents a windscreen. The air resistance and the wind Noises from this roof sign are therefore also relative high.

The object of the invention is to provide a roof sign for vehicles create the air resistance of the vehicle only marginally influenced and as little additional wind noise as possible generated.

The task is solved by the fact that with a roof sign type mentioned the pivot axis and a recess for the sign is arranged in the roof of the vehicle and one  aerodynamically shaped fairing in the direction of travel in front of the Recess is made on the roof. This measure will achieved that the shield of the roof sign in the swung back Condition is almost completely retractable in the roof of the vehicle and thus only generates a minimal air resistance. There no special fastening device in this configuration are necessary, the roof symbol is particularly important in pivoted back condition for a viewer hardly as disturbing to recognize. A danger to other road users is minimal with this roof sign.

Nachfolgend wird eine Ausführungsform der Erfindung erläutert. Es zeigenAn embodiment of the invention is explained below. Show it

FIG. 1a to 1c, an embodiment of a fiction, modern roof mark for a passenger car in a front, a rear and a side view.

In Figs. 1a to 1c, a passenger car is provided with a roof sign consisting of a shield (30), a cover (31) and a recess (32) substantially.

In the roof sign, a recess ( 32 ) is provided in the roof, which at least partially accommodates a sign ( 30 ) seen with the inscription in a folded-back state. A corresponding axis is arranged in front of the recess ( 32 ) for pivoting the shield ( 30 ). Furthermore, a covering ( 31 ) is provided in front of the recess ( 32 ), which is aerodynamically designed and continues on the transverse sides of the recess ( 32 ).

Due to the fixed installation of the roof sign shown in FIGS . 1a to 1c in the roof of the vehicle, further Haltvorrich lines are not necessary. The sign ( 30 ) of the roof sign can be pivoted by the driver, for example, with the aid of an electrical or mechanical drive into a vertical folded-out position ( FIGS. 1a and 1c) and a horizontal, folded-back position ( FIG. 1b). There is also the possibility of illuminating the sign ( 30 ).
