Die Geometrie der Schnittmesser, die Lage der Schneid kanten und die Anordnung der Messer ist in Fig. 1b prinzi piell dargestellt. Durch Rotation der Welle, hervorgerufen durch ein Antriebselement (Elektro, Benzin- Diesel- oder Hydro motor) wird das sich im Luftstrom befindliche Laub von den rotierenden, sichelförmigen Messern (Fig. 1b) zerkleinert. Das zerkleinerte Laub wird mittels eines Gebläses (5), das sich zwischen Antriebselement (8) und Messerwerk (4) befindet, zur Auslaßöffnung (6) im Luftstrom transportiert und ausge blasen. Hier kann es beispielsweise in Säcke abgefüllt werden.
