Description

Zu diesem Zweck wurden jahrelang dauerelastische Kitte auf Bitumen-, Acryl- und Butylbasis eingesetzt. Später kamen dann Polysulfid-, Silicon- und Polyurethandichtungsmassen auf den Markt. Witterungsbedingte Verarbeitungsprobleme, insbesondere während der Winter zeit, führten zunehmend zu dem Einsatz von hochkomprimierbaren und selbst klebenden Dichtungsstreifen und -bändern. Dabei wurden als Trägermaterial entsprechend dimensionierte Schaumgummi- oder Kunststoffschaumbänder verwendet. Alle aufgeführten Dichtungsmaterialien sind brennbar und bilden deshalb eine Schwachstelle im Brandfall. bildenden Thermoschaumes erreicht dabei nur ein Bruchteil des Aufschäum
volumens eines selbstständig agierenden Intumeszenzproduktes.

Entsprechende Brandversuche mit hochwirksamen Intumeszenzsträngen haben ergeben, daß schon bei einer Relation von 9 : 1 der im Brandfall aufschäumenden Sekundärschaum die Fugen sicher gegenüber Feuer und Rauch abdichtet.
