Description

The invention relates to a flexible, highly compressible, self adhesive sealing tape with fire protection properties.

Joint seals in reinforced concrete ceilings, walls, slits between light Building walls and concrete ceilings in precast construction, generally all static joints must be closed in such a way that movements of the individual components Fluctuations in heat are possible, but the room closure is fully preserved remains. For this purpose, permanently elastic putties were used on Bitumen, acrylic and butyl base used. Then came later Polysulfide, silicone and polyurethane sealants on the market. Weather-related processing problems, especially during the winter time, increasingly led to the use of highly compressible and self adhesive sealing strips and tapes. They were used as a carrier material appropriately dimensioned foam rubber or plastic foam tapes used. All listed sealing materials are flammable and therefore form a weak point in the event of a fire. Over the course of several Large volumes caused the fire to spread over the joints Area.

From investors, building regulators and property insurers therefore more and more fire protective seals are required. By additional impregnation of the carrier tapes with fire-protection components an attempt is being made to meet these requirements. This will be two different methods used.

A number of products are tried with relatively high amounts of organic fire protection components the sealing tapes in the mass protect. Due to the high proportion of third-party components primary properties, such as flexibility, compressibility, weather consistency, cohesion very badly affected.

Such fire-protective sealants embrittle after a relatively short period of weathering, and in addition, under the influence of rain, components are washed out that are visually noticeable on the facades. Another protection option is the subsequent impregnation of the foam seal with thermo-reactive intumescent materials. In the event of fire, the burning sealing strip (primary foam) should be replaced by the thermal foam that forms (secondary foam). By incorporating the intumescent components into the foreign matrix, their foaming behavior is very much hindered. The volume of the thermal foam that forms is only a fraction of the volume of a self-acting intumescent product.

Based on the described shortcomings of standard seals the invention has for its object to provide a joint seal which is able to cope with the permanent burdens of building practice, as well as in In the event of fire, a fire spread completely and over the joint area can safely prevent.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that one or more flexible, highly compressible, self-adhesive sealing strips with one or several intumescent fire protection strands into one multifunctional Fire protection sealing tape can be connected. The volume ratio of the Sealing strip to the fire protection strand is u. a. of foaming behavior dependent on the latter. Appropriate fire tests with highly effective Intumescent strands have shown that even with a relation of 9: 1 the secondary foam, which foams up in the event of a fire, reliably protects the joints Seals fire and smoke. With appropriate arrangement, fire protection strands will not the primary functionality of the sealing tape impaired.

The embodiments shown in the drawings ( FIGS. 1 to 4) are intended to explain, by way of example, the variations that are possible in practice, but without restricting the scope.

In all of the exemplary embodiments shown, the sealing strip or its individual parts are denoted by 1 or 1 ' , the intumescent fire protection strands are denoted by 2 or 2' , and 3 indicates the separating layer made of wax paper or plastic used for self-adhesive seals.
