Abstract

The bagasse remaining from the manufacture of sugar from sugar cane is used as a culture medium for mushroom cultivation, the bagasse interspersed with mushroom mycelium, together with the mushroom fruiting bodies, or after harvesting these fruiting bodies, being used as feedstuff, in particular for fish.

Description

When sugar is obtained from cane sugar arises in considerable quantities as press residue the so-called bagasse. In most sugar cane growing areas, this waste product used as fuel. In some countries, For example, in Iran, the bagasse is an unused one Waste product, as for the actual sugar production other cheaper fuels are available.

It is an object of the invention to provide an additional benefit to show the appropriate use for bagasse and a cheap one To create fodder, especially for fish.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that Bagasse is used as a breeding ground for mushroom cultivation. According to an advantageous development of the invention this arises from mushroom cultivation, with mushroom mycelium mixed bagasse as feed for livestock uses, for example as fish feed in fish farms.

According to the invention can in on the bagasse culture medium itself known mushrooms or possibly also Fungi are grown, depending on the type of mushroom Breeding in the appropriate environment either outdoors or  in suitable greenhouses. The bagasse will preferably directly from the cane presses manufacturing uses, which has the advantage that the Bagasse because of the processing taking place under heat sterile and free of foreign infections is what others do known breeding grounds for mushroom cultivation is not the case. For example, the bagasse becomes flat for mushroom cultivation laid out on the floor or simply in perforated plastic bags filled. The bagasse contains immediately after Leaving the sugar press is generally still sufficient Moisture for the start of mushroom growing, if not, the bagasse is irrigated beforehand. Then will then inoculated the bagasse with the desired mushroom spawn. Inside the cellulose, low sugar residues and lignin containing bagasse culture medium then forms the mycelium from which then on the surface of the culture medium finally after some time the corresponding mushroom Grow out fruiting bodies. In particularly hot areas the nutrient medium is still sprayed with water In this way, the most varied edible mushrooms can be used such as oyster plize (pleurotus ostreatus), shiitake (leutinus edodes), or cultural noise linge (strophoria rugosa-annulata). In the same way any feed mushrooms can also be grown. After which the bagasse mainly in tropical or subtropi countries and the mushrooms as inexpensively as possible to be grown outdoors, it is advantageous then in such countries correspondingly heat-resistant mushrooms to breed.

This in this way entails growing mushrooms from the bagasse standing product, namely the one with mycelium Bagasse with mushroom fruit growing on the surface, can either according to the invention after harvesting the  Mushroom fruiting or directly together with this mushroom fruiting bodies as feed for agricultural use animals are used, especially as fish feed, since the Mushroom from the lignin contained in the bagasse and the Cellulose and the sugar residues and those in the bagasse other nutrients contained in the protein-rich mushroom mycelium forms. The bagasse that has grown through with mycelium can fresh or dried and crushed accordingly fish farming can be used as fish feed. This is particularly advantageous in those countries where in addition the planting of sugar cane has recently become more and more fish breeding is carried out, for example in Iran, because the bagasse arises as a useless by-product and in these countries is usually not used for other purposes. According to the invention can only be obtained from it in a simple manner Inoculate the bagasse with a suitable mushroom brood under ge suitable environmental conditions (heat, irrigation and the like Chen) a very cheap fish food can be produced. A particularly simple and inexpensive method of manufacture Such feed is the filling mentioned the bagasse in perforated plastic bags, in wel after inoculating the bagasse with the appropriate mushroom then the bagasse with mushroom mycelium is grown through. This can also be easily carried out by inexperienced people and apart from a temporary spray irrigation does not need kei No observation or additional processing. Which he imagined sterility of the bagasse, i.e. lack of foreign infection the bagasse also makes with other molds or the like especially for this purpose of the production of feed is suitable.
