Er wirft sich sehr bald, wird unrund, läuft dann unruhig und sehr bald mit starken Erschütterungen, um schließlich ganz betriebsunfähig zu werden. Durch diese Ausbildung des Herdringes wird dieser derart widerstands-fähig gegen die Ofenhitze, daß er sich nicht verziehen kann, seine Lebensdauer bedeutend verlängert wird, Ausbesserungen an ihm vermieden werden, ein ruhiger Gang gewährleistet und ein ununterbrochener Betrieb für lange Zeit gesichert ist. Die Körbe gelangen dabei von der Vorwärinzone in die im Gegenstrom von den Heizgasen unispülte Heizzone der Muffel. Darauf treten die Körbe in die Kühlzone ein, deren Wände natürlich auch noch gut durchwärmt sind, wodurch eine langsame Abkühlung der Ware gewährleistet wird. Dazu kommt dann noch die von der Heizfläche wieder abgegebene Hitze, so daß der Inhalt der Körbe nicht nur gleichmäßig erhitzt, sondern auch im selben Maße gleichmäßig wieder abgekühlt wird.
