Description
Device on canning vessels to identify the risk of spoilage the contents of the same in the event of a leak in the vascular occlusion. In the practice of Preserving food often results in considerable losses to what is to be preserved The good thing is that the closures of the canning jars are either not in the first place keep completely tight or leak afterwards.
In order to combat this problem, designers of such sterilizers have created viewing devices for canning vessels, which give the observer a means of finding out about the state of the vacuum inside the vessel. Now, however, all these previously known sighting devices have the disadvantage that their function is only triggered when the vacuum inside the vessel is at least already reduced or completely destroyed and the interior of the glass have taken place so that a visible effect is achieved on the device, d. H. air must have already penetrated the inside of the vessel from the outside. Now it is a fact of experience that the leakage of a sealing ring can happen so slowly - for example when porous * seals are used - that until the vacuum is reduced to a state such as the above-mentioned sighting devices need to be able to function, a greater time can go by. This is then sufficient to initiate the putrefaction process of the stored goods through the putrefaction pathogens that have penetrated at the same time as the air particles; before this danger could be recognized by the vision device.
With regard to the means used in the construction of such previously known viewing devices, it is felt uncomfortable that more or less complicated construction elements - for example valves and the like - are used here , which on the one hand make the apparatus more expensive and on the other hand at least make certain demands on it correct operation.
The present invention has a device on canning vessels to detect and delay the risk of their contents being spoiled Leaking of the vessel closure becomes an object in which the above-described Disadvantages are avoided.
On the accompanying drawing is an exemplary embodiment this device shown, namely the Fig. i shows a vertical section through the vessel and the top view of the same.
The sealing surface a of the vessel is formed by a shoulder of the vessel wall and is so much below the vessel opening that the lid b with the sealing ring c is protruded from the edge of the vessel. A second lid d forms the closure of the vessel opening. Immediately below the sealing surface a, the inside of the vessel has a groove e of greater and lesser depth such that the greatest depth of the groove is diametrically opposite the smallest depth thereof. The dotted spring f is only used during the boiling of the goods to be preserved to press the lid b onto the sealing ring c. The recess g on the lid b serves as a point of attack for the hook h, in order to be able to lift off the lid b from the vessel with its help by levering it sideways.
This extremely simple and convenient device works as follows: If the goods to be preserved have been placed inside the vessel (the filling has only been made up to the filling mark züi on the vessel wall), then the sealing ring c and the lid b are placed on the vessel , the lid b is pressed on by means of the spring f and the contents of the vessel are then brought to a boil. After the contents have boiled down, the channel e of the liquid that has possibly penetrated into it is brought into the inside of the container by inclining the vessel towards the flat point of the channel e for emptying and then pouring a contr # l_g- # ssi -eit elswei over the lid b # .e - Wasse - ___g4 -. - '- -z) -Wis to a two-fold filling mark on the upper part of the vessel wall. When the vessel cools, a vacuum is formed in the vessel due to condensation, which has a suction effect on the sealing ring c. If this does not form an airtight seal, the control liquid will be sucked into the channel and will collect here at the deepest point of the channel, in a sense registered there. This process can still be observed precisely and easily by means of features to be attached to the vessel. However, if the level of the control liquid remains at a constant level, i.e. if it does not penetrate into the channel e, the spring f can be lifted off the cover b and the second cover d placed on it, which has the task of protecting the control liquid from evaporation and contamination . In the event that the leakage of the sealing ring c is very small - for example if the seal is porous - the control liquid will accordingly be sucked very slowly into the channel e, but is here exactly as described, at the deepest point of the channel accumulate and register for the observer. The lock remains completely intact, however, as long as not all control liquid is sucked into the channel c. A spoilage of the preserved goods can therefore not be initiated up to this point in time, since no air can penetrate the contents of the vessel for just as long; The control liquid cannot get into the inside of the vessel either, because this (is caught by the channel e.
Thus, this facility provides an extensive guarantee for the security of the picked-up goods. It is only necessary to inspect the control device from time to time in order to make sure of the condition of the seal. Even if a slow penetration of control liquid into the channel t 1 is observed, Mar can still hesitate to consume the awakened goods until almost all the control liquid has been sucked into the channel c without causing any danger for a spoilage of the stored goods. At this point in time, the control liquid also forms a second protection.
