Bei den bekannten, zum Trocknen von Braunkohlen u. dergl. dienenden Dampftelleröfen von rundem und anderem Querschnitt erfolgt die Trocknung wesentlich unter Mit- ■ wirkung von über das Trockenmaterial hinwegstreichender Luft, welche die Wasserdä'mpfe auflöst und mit sich fortreifst. Um diesen Luftzug möglichst zu befördern, ist es angebracht, die zwischen je zwei über einander angeordneten Tellern befindlichen Schlitze auf ein gewisses Mafs zu verengen.
