Abstract

The fittings for mounting a tubular fluorescent lamp on, eg. a ceiling, include a supporting or base panel with a holder attached to each end, mounted vertically. Into each holder is inserted a block holding one end of the lamp tube, with a locking action. Each block is connected by a wire to a U-shaped intermediate member, attached to the panel at an intermediate position, and with components such as starter, choke, compensating capacitor mounted on it, and connected by internal wiring. One side of the intermediate member has a slot along it, so that the components are thermally decoupled, this side sloping inwards, with a step so that the internal wiring is protected by a horizontal flange. This member is secured by, e.g. screws to the base. The other side has further wires secured by clips to its top.
