Von der Anzeigevorrichtung 7 führt eine zusätzliche Leitung 9 zu einem Anschluß-Punkt 10 im Stromkreis der temperaturabhängigen Schalteinrichtung 6. Über diese Leitung wird die Spannung de r te der temperaturabhängigen Schalteinrichtung 6 abgefühlt. Führt nun ein Überschreiten der Temperatur im Gerät (Wäschetrockner) zum Ansprechen und damit Öffnen der temperaturabhängigen Schalteinrichtung 6, wird zunächst die Stromzufuhr zur Heizeinrichtung 5 unterbrochen. Gleichzeitig tritt zwischen dem bereits genannten Anschluß--Punkt 10 und einem weiteren, im Stromkreis der Schalteinrichtung 6 befindlichen Anschluß-Punkt 11 eine Spannung auf, die ein Ansprechen der durch die Anschluß-Punkte 10,11 parallel zur Schalteinrichtung 6 geschalteten Anzeigevorrichtung 7 auf, was ein Aufleuchten von deren Anzeigelampe 8 zur Folge hat. Dem Benutzer wird damit beim beschriebenen Ausführungsbeispiel optisch angezeigt, daß die temperaturabhängige Schalteinrichtung 6 angesprochen hat. Damit die optische Anzeige auch dann erhalten bleibt, wenn die offene temperaturabhängige Schalteinrichtung 6 noch vor Ende des Programmablaufes wieder in ihre Schließstellung zurückfällt, sind in der Anzeigevorrichtung 7 Mittel zur Speicherung ihres Schaltzustandes vorgesehen.
