Sobald dann die Knaggen in ihrer ganzen Länge bis in das Innere des Schloßkastens gelangt sind, werden sie durch die Federspannung sofort wieder in ihre Ruhestellung auseinandergespreizt, wodurch ihre vorderen Kanten nunmehr innen im Schloßkasten vor den die Einschuböffnung umgebenden Kastenrand treten und so ein Gesperre für das eingeschobene Sicherheitsschloßwerk bilden. Der am Gehäuse des letzteren vorgesehene Flansch schließt bei dieser Lage die Einschuböffnung von außen ringsum ab. Die Zeichnung veranschaulicht ein Ausführungsbeispiel der neuen Befestigung, und zwar in Anwendung auf ein in das Gehäuse eines Vorhängeschlosses einschiebbares Einsatzschloß mit Schlüsselzylinder.

In der durch diesen Flansch gedachten Mittelebene sind zwischen Ansatzpaaren c c, die am Außenzylinder des Einsatzschlosses bzw. an der Rippe δ vorgesehen sind, einander gegenüberliegend Knaggen«? drehbar gelagert. Beide Knaggen stehen unter dem Einfluß einer Feder e, die als Halbring das Einsatzschloß an seiner unteren Seite umspannt und die Knaggen d in der Ruhelage derart auseinanderspreizt, daß deren vordere Kanten über den Rand des Flansches α hinausragen.
Die Knaggen ä lassen sich unter entsprechender Spannung der Feder e so weit nach einwärts drehen, so daß das Einsatzschloß in die im Gehäuse f des Vorhängeschlosses vorgesehene Öffnung eingeschoben werden kann. Beim Einsetzen des Einsatzschlosses in das Gehäuse f wird einfach in der Weise verfahren, daß das Einsatzschloß mit dem hinteren Ende durch die im Gehäuse des Vorhängeschlosses befindliche Öffnung eingeschoben wird, bis die Knaggen d mit ihrer äußeren Längskante an den die Einschuböffnung umgebenden Rand stoßen, worauf unter geeignet verstärktem Druck das Einsatzschloß weiter hineingeschoben wird, bis der Flansch α sich auf diesen die Einschuböffnung umgebenden, zweckmäßig etwas vertieft liegenden Rand aufsetzt. Die Knaggen d sind hierbei vollständig in das Innere des Gehäuses f getreten und durch die gespannte Feder & wieder auseinandergespreizt worden, so daß sie nunmehr innen vor dem die Einschuböffnung umgebenden Rand des Gehäuses stehen und demgemäß nach Art von Sperrstücken ein Herausnehmen des Einsatzschlosses verhindern. Das Einschieben des Einsatzschlosses wird selbstredend in solcher Weise bewirkt, daß hierbei von selbst eine Kupplung des Schlüsselzylinders mit dem Riegelwerk des Schlosses eintritt. Statt zweier einander gegenüberliegend angeordneter Sperrknaggen könnten deren auch drei oder mehr angebracht sein, die dann selbstredend geeignet um den Zylinder des Einsatzschlosses zu verteilen wären.
