Selbsttätige Polinnaschine.Automatic Polish machine.
Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 28. Mai 1885 ab.Patented in the German Empire on May 28, 1885.
The present invention relates to a machine on which in particular metal objects, such as suitcase rivets, upholstery nails, clip nails, buttons, rosettes and the like, with or without galvanic deposits of gold, silver, nickel, tin and so on in an automatic working process to be polished.
In the drawing, the machine is shown in Fig. 1 in outline, in Fig. 2 in section along line CD, in Fig. 3 half in section along lines AB and EF .
A disk a rotates on a vertical axis b, which is fastened in the stand c , in which as many small spindles d as possible are rotatably mounted. At the upper end of each of these spindles a clamping chuck e is screwed, which takes up the object to be polished and is adapted in size and shape to this object. At the lower end of each of the spindles d a cord disc is attached. A cord f, which runs over the cord pulleys gg 1 , sets a pair of spindles d each on two sides of the disk a in rotation, at a speed of about 5,000 revolutions per minute. The disk g sits on a vertical shaft, the worm of which Λ meshes with a worm wheel i that sits on the horizontal shaft k. On this shaft k , which is mounted in the stator c , there are three curved disks, one of which pushes the ratchet wheel m located under the disk α further by one tooth each time it is used. The resulting rotation of the disk corresponds exactly to the distance between two spindles d . The two other curved disks η and η 1 transmit, by means of the levers ο and ο 1 , ρ and p 1 and the articulated rods qq 1 and rr 1, movement to the carriages ss 1 , which are located on the opposite supports 11 l connected to the stand c rest. The slides ss 1 consist of the sliders s' 2 s 3 and the arms rotatable on the pins s 4 and s 5 , which are pressed against the objects to be polished by spiral springs located in the sleeves ν v 1. The strength of this spring pressure can be regulated by means of the screws ww 1 . The angle at which the slides ss l move is adjustable, depending on the shape of the object to be polished. In the case of round objects, the slide is given an arcuate movement about a pivot pin mounted in the supports 11 1.
The polishing tool uu 1 (blood stone, agate or steel) is clamped in a holder by means of clamping screws 1 and is regulated by the screws j ^ K 1 . The finished, polished workpieces are stripped from the clamping chucks e as the disk a rotates and fall onto the plates {ζ 1 , from where they advance in slots into the funnel GG 1 and through the same into containers.
The cord f runs over the two guide rollers JJ 1 , which are carried by a stand H.
Nach jeder Umdrehung der Curvenscheibe / dreht sich dasAs already mentioned, a pair of spindles d is simultaneously set in rotation by the cord on each side of the disk α. The object to be polished is first machined under one tool, then finished smooth on the other. After every turn of the cam disc / it turns
