Abstract

1. Lower mattress with cross beams (16) as support for an upper mattress, where each cross beam is attached to the support frame of the lower mattress by means of a flexible connection piece that can be adjusted with respect to its spring strength, whereby each connection piece has a pre-selectable compression spring (21), characterized in that the compressing spring (21), as is common knowledge, can be adjusted by means of an adjustment screw (22), in that each connection piece consists of a spring plate (23, 17) arranged in a location borehole (11) of the support frame (1) and resting on the cross beam (16) with an outward-facing molding piece (24) to hold the compression springs (21), in that the location borehole (11) extends over a part of the thickness of the support frame (1), in that there is an internal screw thread sleeve (14) in a borehole (13) in the middle axis and above the spring plate (23) located in the support frame (1) and the adjustment screw (22) for adjusting the pre-selection of the compression springs (21) passes through this sleeve, and in that the lengthwise beams (2) of the support frame (1) are reinforced on their lower side by an additional beam (6), to which is affixed a measurement scale (8) for setting the pre-selection values of the compression springs (21).
