Überfangersatz-Glasbuchstabe aus gassivglas. Die Wirkung der unter Patent 316322 geschützten undurchsichtigen Überfangersatz-Glasbuchstaben läßt sich bei einfacher Herstellungsweise nocddadurch steigern, daß man auf das Massivglas,;ohne besondere Abschrägong in Form eines Saumes, einer Facette, eines Schattens o. dgl. auf die glatte, ebene Vorderfläche des undurchsichtigen Buchstabens eine bestimmte diese Abschrägung nachahmende Auftragung von Farbe, Silber, Gold o. dgl. bringt, die am besten z. B. durch Wärmeverfahren eingebrannt und gegen Witterungseinflüsse geschützt wird. Man erzielt eine der Abschrägung gleiche Wirkung. Zwar ist es bekannt, Buchstaben, auch durchsichtige, auf der Vorderseite mit einem farbigen Umrißrande zu versehen und auf der Rückseite zu hinterlegen. Undurchsichtige massive Glasbuchstaben aber, die ihre glatte, ebene Vorderfläche behalten, auf der dann gemäß der Erfindung ohne Abschrägung ein Saum, Schatten o. dgl. in Farben, Gold o. dgl. aufgetragen und eingebrannt ist, sind nicht bekannt. Somit ist es gemäß der Erfindung nur notwendig, gewöhnliches Massivglas, z. B. Milchglas, wie nach Patent 3z6322 zu verwenden, gegebenenfalls die Buchstabenform an den Außenkanten nur so zu schleifen, daß die richtige Kontur glatt erscheint, und dann die um den Kernbuchstaben, die eigentliche Buchstabenform, liegenden Ränder, welche in der Form eines Saumes,- einer Facette, eines Schattens o. dgl. geführt werden, auf der glatten, ebenen Buchstabenvorderseite mit Farbe, Silber, Gold o. dgl. zu bestreichen-und, falls nötig, durch Wärmeverfahren, Einbrennen o. dgl. zu befestigen. Dieser Glasbuchstabe wirkt, wie Versuche im inneren Raum und an Außenfronten ergeben haben, bei guter Haltbarkeit wie der echte Überfang-Glasbuchstabe, ist dabei aber viel einfacher und billiger herzustellen als der echte oder Überfangersatz-Glasbuchstabe nach Patent 316322.Overlay replacement glass letter made of solid glass.
