Abstract

A hose-burst safety device (21) in combination with a pressure regulator (12) interrupts the gas flow as soon as a predetermined flow rate is exceeded, which is the case, for example, in the event of a hose burst. During brazing work with liquefied gas under ground areas, it is to be possible to carry out a check before the start of work to determine whether the hose line and fittings are sufficiently tight. When the gas-cylinder valve is opened, the closing cone in the inlet passage (8) is closed by the pressure surge. When the start button (14) is depressed, the pressure-balance valve (15) releases a gas flow metered to a low rate by the metering screw (1) arranged in the bypass passage (6). The gas flow results in a pressure balance in the outlet passage (9) and allows the closing cone to open. A leakage in the hose or at the fitting connected downstream would then not allow the hose-burst safety device to move into the open position at all. The hose-burst safety device (21) is integrated in the outlet connection piece (11) of the pressure regulator (12).
