Die Erfindung besteht nun darin, daß die aus den parallelen Platten gebildeten, nebeneinanderliegenden Kammern abwechselnd an je zwei einander gegenüberliegenden Seiten vollständig offen sind, so daß sich die durchströmende Luft und die Heizgase rechtwinklig kreuzen. Durch die Bleichweiten Kammern strömen sowohl die Luft wie die Heizgase ungehindert hindurch. Die glatten und in voller Weite zugänglichen Kammern lassen sich leicht von Ruß und Asche reinigen. Dabei bietet das rechtwinklige Kreuzen der Luft und der Heizgase noch die Möglichkeit, die von den Heizgasen zuerst ,berührten Teile des Lufterhitzers stärker zu kühlen als die anderen Teile, indem an dieser Stelle die Luft schneller durch den Lufterhitzer hin.durcbgeleitet wird.Air heater for drying systems.
