Ein cycloaliphatisches Diepoxid, Verfahren zur Herstellung und
Verwendung |
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft das cycloaliphatische Diepoxid !,S-Dimethyl-l^jSjö-diepoxycyclooctan, ein Verfahren zu seiner Herstellung
und seine Verwendung.
Es ist aus dem GB-Patent 793,150 bekannt, dass man
Cyclooctadien-(l.S) mittels wasserfreier, in einem organischen Lösungsmittel gelöster Peressigsäure in guten Ausbeuten
epoxidieren kann. Verwendet man nun anstelle des Cyclooctadiens-(1.5)
das 1,5-Dimethylcyclooctadien-(1.5) und versucht es nach dem im GB-Patent
offenbarten Verfahren zu epoxidieren, so erhält man die entsprechende Diepoxidverbindung nur in etwa 60%-iger Ausbeute, wobei
diese mit mehreren Nebenprodukten, hauptsächlich mit 1,5-Dimethyl- '
hydroxyacetylcyclooctan-Sjö-epoxid verunreinigt ist.
Es wurde nun gefunden, dass sich l,5-Dimethyl-l,2;5,6-diepoxycyclooctan
durch Epoxidierung von ljS-Dimethylcyclooctadien-Cl^S) in
besseren Ausbeuten herstellen lässt, wenn man die Epoxidierung mit wässriger Peressig- oder Perpropionsäure und in einem bestimmten pH-Bereich
durchführt.
Im Vergleich zum bekannten 1,2:5,6-Diepoxycyclooctan, das eine hochschmelzende
Verbindung darstellt und in Bezug auf Epoxidharzhärtungsmittel
relativ reaktiv ist, ist das erfindungsgemässe 1,5-Dimethyll,2;5,6~diepoxycyclooctan
niedrigviskos und weniger reaktiv. Neben einer besseren Lagerstabilität weist das l,5-Dimethyl-l,2;5,6-diepoxycyclooctan
den Vorteil auf, dass es einen hervorragenden latenten
reaktiven Verdünner für Epoxidharze darstellt. Bekanntlich können den
Epoxidharzen zur Erniedrigung der Viskosität nichtreaktive Plastifizierungsmittel
oder reaktive Verdünner, wie Monoepoxide, zugegeben werden, doch werden dadurch die mechanischen Eigenschaften der gehärteten
Epoxidharze meistens verschlechtert.
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist somit das 1,5-Dimethyl-1,2;
5,6-diepoxycyclooctan, das der Formel

entspricht, und ein Verfahren zu seiner Herstellung, welches dadurch
gekennzeichnet ist, dass man 1,5-Dimethyleyclooctadien-(1.5) mit wässriger Peressig- oder Perpropionsäure bei einer Temperatur von
höchstens 500C, vorzugsweise in einem Temperaturbereich von 0 bis
400C, und in einem pH-Bereich von 1,5 bis 5,5, vorzugsweise von
2 bis 4, epoxidiert.
Vorzugsweise verwendet man zur Epoxidierung des 1,5-Dimethylcyclooctadiens-(l,5)
eine 20 bis 50%-ige wässrige Peressigsäure- oder Perpropionsäurelösung.
Zur Epoxidierung des ljS-Dimethylcyclooctadiens-d.S) ist kein Ueberschuss
an Peressigsäure oder Perpropionsäure erforderlich. Um die Bildung von Nebenprodukten möglichst gering zu halten, empfiehlt es
sich, ljS-Dimethylcyclooctadien-d.S) und die entsprechende Percarbonsäure
im Molverhältnis von 1:2 einzusetzen.
Die Einstellung der Reaktionslösung auf einen bestimmten pH-Wert erfolgt
mit einer Base, vorzugsweise mit Natron- oder Kalilauge.·
In einer weiteren bevorzugten Ausführungsform legt man das in einem
aprotischen Lösungsmittel gelöste !,S-Dimethylcyelooctadien vor und
lässt zu dieser organischen Lösung die wässrige Persäurelösung zutropfen.
Diese Verfahrensweise bietet den Vorteil, dass die bei der Epoxidierung entstehende Essig- bzw. Propionsäure aus der organischen
Phase durch Waschen mit Wasser einfacher entfernt werden kann.
Als aprotische Lösungsmittel verwendet man die üblichen Lösungsmittel
wie beispielsweise Chloroform, Chlorbenzol oder Benzol als apolare Lösungsmittel oder Dimethylformamid, Dimethylacetamid, N-Methylpyrrolidon,
Hexaphosphorsäuretriamid oder Sulfolan als polare aprotische Lösungsmittel.
Das beim erfindungsgemässen Verfahren eingesetzte 1,5-Dimethylcyclooctadien—(1.5)
ist bekannt, und kann gemäss dem in "Journal of appl.
Chem. Eiotechnol., 1973, 23, 131" beschriebenen Verfahren durch Dimerisation
von Isopren mit NickeInaphthenat hergestellt werden.
Das l,5-Dimethyl-l,2;5,6-diepoxyeyclooctan kann mit den gebräuchlichen
Härtungsmitteln für Epoxidharze gehärtet werden und ergibt unlösliche,
unschmelzbare Stoffe mit technisch wertvollen Eigenschaften. Da das !,S-Dimethyl-l^jSjo-diepoxycyclooctan eine niedrige Viskosität
aufweist, wird es vorzugsweise als latenter reaktiver Verdünner oder als Giessharz verwendet, doch kann es auch als Laminierharz,
für Oberflächenbeschichtungen, als Tauchharz, in Pressmassen, als
Isolierharz für die Elektroindustrie, als Dichtungsmasse oder als Klebstoff Anwendung finden.

Gewünschtenfalls kann somit das !,
auch in Mischung mit anderen Epoxidharzen gehärtet werden.
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung sind somit auch härtbare Mischungen, enthaltend !,S-Dimethyl-l^S.o-diepoxycyclooctan und
Härtungsmittel für Epoxidharze, sowie gegebenenfalls noch ein anderes Epoxidharz.
Als Beispiele für Härtungsmittel seien die gebräuchlichen Härtungsmittel für Epoxidharze genannt, einschliesslich der aliphatischen,
cycloaliphatische^ aromatischen und heterocyclischen Amine, wie Bis-(4-aminophenyl)-methan, Anilin-Formaldehyd-Harz, Bis-(4-aminophenyl)-sulfon,
Aethylendiamin, Propan-1,2-diamin, Propan-l,3-diamin,
Hexamethylendiamin, Diäthylentriamin, Triäthylentetramin, 2,2,4-Trimethylhexan-l,6-diamin,
2,3,3-Trimethylhexan-l,6-diamin, m-Xylylendiamin,
Bis-(4-aminocyclohexyl)-methan, 2,2-Bis-(4-aminocyclohexyl)-propan,
2,2-Bis-(4-amino-3-methylcyclohexyl)-propan und 3-Aminomethyl-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexylamin
(Isophorondiamin); PoIyaminoamide, wie
beispielsweise solche aus aliphatischen Polyaminen und dimerisierten oder trimerisierten Fettsäuren, Polyphenole, wie Resorcin, Hydrochinon,
2,2-Bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propan, Phenol-Aldehyd-Harze und ölmodifizierte
Phenol-Aldehyd-Harze, Phosphorsäure, Polythiol, wie die im Handel unter der Bezeichnung "Thiokole" erhältlichen Polythiole, Polycarbonsäuren
und ihre Anhydride, wie zum Beispiel Phthalsäureanhydrid, Tetrahydrophthalsäureanhydrid,
Methylendomethylentetrahydrophthalsäureanhydrid, Noneny!bernsteinsäureanhydrid, Dodeceny!bernsteinsäureanhydrid,
Hexahydrophthalsäureanhydrid, Hexachlorendomethylentetra ~

hydrophthalsäureanhydrid, Hexachlorendomethylentetrahydrophthalsäureanhydrid
und Endomethylentetrahydrophthalsäureanhydrid und ihre Mischungen, Maleinsäureanhydrid, Bernsteinsäureanhydrid, Pyromellitsäureanhydrid
, Benzophenon-3,3', 4,4'-tetracarbonsäuredianhydrid",
Polysebazinsäureanhydrid, Polyazelainsäureanhydrid, die Saure der
zuvorgenannten Anhydride sowie auch Isophthalsäure, Terephthalsäure, Zitronensäure und Mellitsäure. Besonders bevorzugte Polycarbonsäuren
oder Anhdride sind solche, die unterhalb von 600C flüssig sind. Es
können auch katalytisch wirkende Härtungsmittel verwendet werden, wie beispielsweise tertiäre Amine (zum Beispiel 2,4,6-Tris-(dimethylaminoäthyl)-phenol
und andere Mannichbasen, N-Benzyldimethylamin und Triethanolamin); Alkalimetallalkoxide von Alkoholen (zum Beispiel
Na-Alkoholat von 2,4-Dihydroxy-3-hydroxymethylpentan), Zinnsalze von
Alkansäuren (zum Beispiel Zinnoctanoat), Friedel-Crafts-Katalysatoren,
wie Bortrifluorid und Bortrichlorid und ihre Komplexe und Chelate, die durch Umsetzung von Bortrifluorid mit zum Beispiel 1,3-Diketonen
erhalten werden.
Mit den Härtungsmitteln können auch die geeigneten Härtungsbeschleuniger
eingesetzt werden. Bei Verwendung von Poly—(aminoamiden),
Polythiole oder Polycarbonsäureanhydriden können tertiäre Amine oder deren Salze, quaternäre Ammoniumverbindungen oder
Alkalimetallalkoxide als Beschleuniger dienen. Beispiele von bestimmten Beschleuniger sind N-Benzyldimethylamin, 2,4,6-Tris-(dimethyI-aminomethyl)-phenol,
Imidazole und Triamylammoniumphenoxid.
Andere Beschleuniger, die ebenfalls eingesetzt werden können, sind
insbesondere Magnesiumnitrat und Mangannitrat, fluorierte und chlorierte Carbonsäuren und deren Salze, wie Magnesiumtrifiuoracetat,
Na-trifluoracetat, Magnesiumtrichloracetat, Na-trichloracetat, Trifluormethansulfonsäure
und ihre Salze, wie das Mangan, Zink-, Magnesium-, Nickel- und Cobaltsalz und Magnesiumperchlorat und Calciumperchlorat.
Die Menge des eingesetzten Härtungsmittels richtet sich nach der
chemischen Natur des Härtungsmittels und nach den gewünschten Eigenschaften
der härtbaren Mischung und des gehärteten Produktes. Die maximale Menge kann leicht ermittelt werden. Wenn das Härtungsmittel
ein Amin ist, werden normalerweise 0,75 bis 1,25 Aequivalente Aminwasserstoff
pro 1 Epoxidäquivalent eingesetzt. Wenn Polycarbonsäuren oder ihre Anhydride eingesetzt werden, verwendet man gewöhnlich 0,4
bis 1,1 Aequivalente Carboxylgruppe bzw. Anhydridgruppe per 1 Aequivalent Epoxidgruppe. Bei der Verwendung von Polyphenolen als Härtungsmittel setzt man 0,75 bis 1,25 phenolische Hydroxylgruppen per 1
Epoxidäquivalent ein. Katalytisch wirkende Härtungsmittel werden allgemein in Mengen von 1 bis 40 Gewichtsteilen pro 100 Gewichtsteile
Epoxidharz eingesetzt.
Je nach Natur des verwendeten Härtungsmittels kann die Härtung bei
Raumtemperatur oder bei höheren Temperaturen vorgenommen werden.
Die Härtung kann gewünschtenfalls auch in zwei Stufen vorgenommen
werden, indem man zum Beispiel den Härtungsvorgang unterbricht oder, falls man ein Härtungsmittel für höhere Temperaturen einsetzt, die
härtbare Mischung bei tieferen Temperaturen nur teilweise härten lässt. Die dabei erhaltenen Produkte sind noch schmelzbare und lösliche
Präkondens.ate (sogenannte "B-Stufenharze") und eignen sich für
Pressmassen, Sinterpulver oder Prepregs.
Von den Epoxidharzen, welche in Mischung mit dem 1,5-Dimethy1-1,2:5,6-diepoxycyclooctan
verwendet werden können, sind am besten die cycloaliphatischen Epoxidharze, wie beispielsweise Vinylcyclohexendioxid,
Limonendioxid, Dicyclopentadiendioxid, 3,4-Epoxydihydrodicyclopentadienylglycidyläther,
der Bis-(3,4-epoxydihydrodicyclopentadienyl)-äther von Aethylenglykol, 3,4-Epoxycyclohexylmethyl-3',4'-epoxycyclohexancarboxylat
und sein 6,6f-Dimethylderivat, Bis-(3,4-epoxy-
cyclohexancarboxylat) von Aethylenglykol, das aus 3,4-Epoxycyclohexancarboxyaldehyd
und ljl-Bis-ChydroxymethylJ-S^-epoxycyclohexan gebildete
Acetal und Bis-(2,3-epoxyeyclopentyl)-äther geeignet.
Ferner sind zur Herstellung von Epoxidharzmischungen auch die PoIyglycidyl-
und Poly-(ß-methylglycidyl)-ester, erhältlich durch Umsetzung
von Polycarbonsäuren mit Epichlorhydrin, Glycerindichlorhydrin
oder ß-Methylepichlorhydrin, in Gegenwart von Alkali, geeignet. Die Polyglycidylester können sich von aliphatischen Carbonsäuren ableiten,
wie zum Beispiel Oxalsäure, Bernsteinsäure oder Adipinsäure, Sebacinsäure, di- oder trimerisierter Linoleinsäure, von cycloaliphatischen
Carbonsäuren, wie Hexahydrophthalsäure, 4-Methylhexahydrophthalsäure,
Tetrahydrophthalsäure und 4-Methyltetrahydrophthalsäure, oder von
aromatischen Carbonsäuren wie Phthalsäure, Isophthalsäure oder Terephthalsäure.
Andere Epoxidharze, mit denen das l,5~Dimethyl-l,2;5,6-diepoxycyclooctan.
verwendet werden kann, sind die Polyglycidyl- und Poly-(ß-methylglyeidyl)-
äther, die durch Umsetzung von mehr als eine alkoholische oder phenolische
Hydroxylgruppe enthaltenden Verbindungen mit Epichlorhydrin, Glycerindichlorhydrin oder ß-Methylepichlorhydrin unter alkalischen
Bedingungen oder in Gegenwart eines sauren Katalysators mit anschliessender alkalischer Behandlung erhalten werden. Solche Polyglycidyläther
können sich von aliphatischen Alkoholen, zum Beispiel Aethylenglykol und Poly-(oxyäthylen)-glykolen, wie Diäthylenglykol und Triäthylenglykol,
Propylenglykol und Poly-(oxypropylen)-glykolen, Propan-1,3-diol,
Butan-l,4-diol, Pentan-l,5-diol, Hexan-l,6-diol, Hexan-2,4,6-triol,
Glycerin, 1,1,1-Trimethylolpropan und Pentaerythrit,
von cycloaliphatischen Alkoholen, wie Chinit, l,l-Bis-(hydroxymethyl)-cyclohex-3-en,
Bis-(4-hydroxycyclohexyl)-methan und 2,2-Bis-(4-hydroxycyclohexyl)-propan
oder von einen aromatischen Kern enthaltenden Alkoholen, wie N,N-Bis-(2-hydroxyäthyl)-anilin und 4,4'-Bis-
(2-hydroxyäthylamino)-dipheny!methan ableiten. Bevorzugt sind solche
Polyglycidylether, die sich von Verbindungen ableiten, die zwei oder
mehrere phenolische Hydroxylgruppen per Molekül aufweisen, wie Resorcin,
Catechin, Hydrochinon, Bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-methan, 1,1,2,2-Tetrakis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-äthan,
4,4'-Dihydroxydiphenyl, Bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-sulfon,
und insbesondere Pheno!-Formaldehyd- oder Kresol-Formaldehyd-Novolakharze, 2,2-Bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propan
(Bisphenol A) und 2,2-Bis-(3,5-dibrom-4-hydroxyphenyl)-propan.
Auch können PoIy-(Nrglyeidyl)-Verbindungen zur Herstellung der Epoxidharzmischungen
verwendet werden, die durch Dehydrochlorierung von Umsetzungsprodukten aus Epiehlorhydrin und Aminen mit mindestens zwei
Aminwasserstoffatomen erhalten werden, wie Anilin, n-Butylamin, Bis-(4-aminophenyl)-methan,
Bis-(4-aminophenyl)-sulfon, und Bis-(4-methylaminophenyl)-methan. Als weitere Poly-CN-glycidyD-Verbindungen
können Triglycidylisocyanurat, Ν,Ν'-Diglycidyl-Verbindungen von cyclischen
Alkylenharnstoffen, wie Aethylenharnstoff und 1,3-Propylenharnstoff,
und Ν,Ν'-Diglycidylverbindungen von Hydantoinen, wie 5,5-Dimethylhydantoin,
eingesetzt werden.
Die erfindungsgemässen härtbaren Mischungen können ferner noch Plastifizierungsmittel
, wie Dibutylphthalat, Dioctylphthalat oder Trikresylphosphat, oder Additive enthalten, wie Füllstoffe, Verstärkungsmittel,
Färbemittel, Fliessmittel, flammhemmende Stoffe und Formtrennmittel.
Geeignete Streckmittel, Füllstoffe und Verstärkungsmittel sind beispielsweise Asbest, Asphalt, Bitumen, Glasfasern, Textilfasern,
Kohlenstoff- oder Borfasern, Glimmer, Tonerde, Gips, Titandioxid, Kreide, Quarzmehl, Cellulose, Kaolin, gemahlener Dolomit,
Wollastonit, Kieselerde mit grosser spezifischer Oberfläche (erhältlich unter dem Handelsnamen "Aerosil"), mit langkettigen Aminen
modifizierte Tonerde (erhältlich unter dem Handelsnamen "Bentone"), gepulvertes Poly-(vinylchlorid), Polyolefin oder Aminoplast, Metall-

pulver, wie Aluminium- oder Eisenpulver. Flammschutzmittel, wie Antimontrioxid, können ebenfalls den härtbaren Mischungen zugegeben
werden.
Die folgenden Beispiele beschreiben die Erfindung. Wenn nichts anderes
vermerkt ist, bedeuten Teile Gewichtsteile.
Beispiel 1: In einem 350 ml Sulfierkolben, versehen mit Rührer, Thermometer,
Kühler, pH-Meter mit Elektrode und Tropftrichter, werden 20,44 g
(0,15 Mol) ijS-Dimethylcyclooctadien-d.S) und 90 ml Chloroform vorgelegt.
Das Gemisch wird auf etwa 5O0C erwärmt und innerhalb etwa 2,5
Stunden werden 115,71 g (0,31 Mol) wässerige, 28%-ige Perpropionsäure hinzugetropft, wobei das pH mit 20%-iger NaOH auf pH 4,0 gehalten wird.
Nach Beendigung wird das Reaktionsgemisch während 1 Stunde bei dieser
Temperatur gehalten, anschliessend wird die organische Phase Imal mit
etwa 100 ml In NaOH und mehrmals mit Wasser gewaschen, über Natriumsulfat
getrocknet und am Vakuum eingeengt. Es resultieren 22,98 g (91.07% der Theorie) einer farblosen Flüssigkeit, welche im Gaschromatographen
76,96% l,5-Dimethyl-l,2,5,6-diepoxycyclooctan enthält.
15,05 g des Rohproduktes werden an etwa 100 g Kieselgel chromatographiert, wobei mit Petroläther/Aether (Mischungsverhältnis 60:40)
6,35 g reines Diepoxid eluiert werden, welches bei 52-55°C/l06,6 Pa
destilliert wird.
IR-Spektrum (Film): 2980-2960, 1470, 1450, 1390, 1070 cm"1.
NMR-Spektrum (CDCl3): 1,30 ppm s 6H (Methyl-); 1,8-2,0 ppm s br. 8H
(CyCl-CH2-); 3,6-3,8 ppm m 2H(Cycl-CH-).

Beispiel 2: In einem 200 ml Sulfierkolben, ausgerüstet mit Rührer,
Thermometer, Kühler, pH-Meter mit Elektrode und Tropftrichter, werden 10,22 g (0,075 Mol) 1,5-Dimethylcyclooetadien-(1.5) und 45 ml Chloroform
vorgelegt. Das Gemisch wird auf 25°C gehalten und innerhalb von 2,5 Stunden werden total 30,4 g (0,16 Mol) 40%-ige wässerige Peressigsäure
hinzugetropft, wobei das pH mit 20%-iger NaOH auf pH 4,0 gehalten wird.

Nach Beendigung wird das Gemisch noch während 30 Minuten bei dieser
Temperatur gehalten, anschliessend wird die organische Phase Imal mit
etwa 150 ml In NaOH und mehrmals mit Wasser gewaschen, über Natriumsulfat
getrocknet und am Vakuum eingeengt. Es resultieren 10,32 g (81% der Theorie) einer farblosen, leicht viskosen Flüssigkeit, die
gaschromatographisch analysiert wird und 82,63% 1,5-Dimethyl-1,2; 5,6-diepoxycyclooctan enthält, das wie im Beispiel 1 durch Destillation
rein erhalten wird.
Beispiel 3; In einem 100 ml Sulfierkolben mit Rührer, Thermometer,
Kühler, pH-Meter mit Elektrode, Tropftrichter, Dosimat mit Impulsomat
(der Firma METRON) für NaOH Zugabe werden 6,81 g (0,05 Mol) 1,5-Dimethylcyclooetadien-(1.5)
in 20 ml Chloroform und 40 ml Wasser vorgelegt, Bei 22-25°C werden innerhalb etwa 3 Stunden total 20,27 g (0,107 Mol)
wässerige, 40%-ige Peressigsäure bei einem bestimmten pH zugetropft, wobei periodisch Proben entnommen werden, die im Gaschromatographen ■
untersucht werden. Nach Beendigung des Zutropfens wird das Reaktionsgemisch noch während etwa 45 Minuten gerührt, anschliessend in einen
Scheidetrichter überführt und die wässerige Phase 3mal mit Chloroform
extrahiert.und wie in Beispiel 2 aufgearbeitet. Das Produkt wird gaschromatographisch
analysiert, wobei bei
pH 2 = 79%,
pH 2 = 79%,
pH 3 = 82%, \
pH 4 = 76% und
pH 5 = 76%, bezogen auf die Rohausbeute, 1,5-Dimethy1-1,2;5,6-diepoxycyclooctan
erhalten werden.
Je 100 Teile 1,5-Dimethy1-1,2; 5,6-diepoxycyclooctan und 100 Teile
1,2; 5,6-Biepoxycyclooctan werden mit je 10 Teilen BF„-Monoäthylamin
als Härtungsmittel vermischt. Von diesen Mischungen wird einerseits
die Reaktivität durch Differential-Thermoanalyse und andererseits die

Glasumwandlungstemperatur der ausgehärteten Produkte bestimmt.
a) Thermoanalyse:
Zur Bestimmung der Reaktivität wird die Differential-Thermoanalyse
(DTA) herangezogen. Etwa 20 mg des zu prüfenden Harz-Härtergemisches werden in einem kleinen Al-Tiegel in der Messkammer eines DTA-Gerätes
(TA-2000 der Fa. METTLER-Instrutnente AG, GH-Greifensee) mit einer
Aufheizgeschwindigkeit von 4°C/Minute erwärmt und die Temperaturdifferenz
gegenüber einem miterwärmten leeren Tiegel laufend aufgezeichnet.
Aus der so erhaltenen Kurve werden als die Reaktivität charakterisierende
Grossen, die Temperaturen für den Reaktionsbeginn (T„), für die
maximale Reaktionsgeschwindigkeit (T ) und für das Ende der Reak-

tion (Tp), abgelesen. Die Messergebnisse sind in Tabelle 1 angegeben.
b) Bestimmung der Glasumwandlungstemperaturen (GUT)
4 g der Harz-Härtermischung werden jeweils in einen dünnwandigen Al-Tiegel
mit etwa 5 cm Durchmesser gegossen und darin ausgehärtet. Der so erhaltenen Scheibe wird eine Probe zur Bestimmung der Glasumwandlungstemperatur
des vernetzten Polymeren mit Hilfe der Differential-Thermoanalyse entnommen. Im Umwandlungspunkt ändert sich die spez.
Wärme; diese Aenderung wird als Wendepunkt in der vom DTA-Gerät (TA-200 der Fa. METTLER-Instrumente AG, CH-Greifensee) aufgezeichneten
Kurve registriert. Die Glasumwandlungstemperatur erlaubt Rückschlüsse auf die Formbeständigkeit des erhaltenen Polymeren in der
Wärme. Die Messwerte sind in Tabelle 1 angegeben.

Claims (7)
1.11,5-Dimethyl-l,2;5,6-diepoxycyclooctan.
2. Verfahren zur Herstellung von 1,5-Dimethyl-l,2;5,6-diepoxycyclooctan
gemäss Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man 1,5-Dimethylcyclooctadien-(1.5)
mit wässeriger Peressig- oder Perpropionsäure bei einer Temperatur bis höchstens 500C und in einem pH-Bereich von 1,5 bis 5,5
epoxidiert.
3. Verfahren gemäss Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man eine
20%- bis 50%-ige wässerige Peressigsäure- oder Perpropionsäurelösung
verwendet.
4. Verfahren gemäss Anspruch 2 oder 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das
Molverhältnis von 1,5-Dimethylcyclooctadien-(1.5) zu Peressig- oder
Perpropionsäure 1:2 beträgt.
5. Verfahren gemäss Anspruch 2 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man
die Epoxidierung des 1,5-Dimethylcyclooctadiens-(1.5) im pH-Bereich von 2 bis 4 vornimmt.
6. Verfahren gemäss Anspruch 2 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man
die Epoxidierung des 1,5—Dimethylcyclooctadiens-(1.5) im Temperaturbereich
von 0 bis 400C durchführt.
7. Härtbares Gemisch, enthaltend 1,5-Dimethyl-l,2;5,6-diepoxycyclooctan
gemäss Anspruch 1 und ein Härtungsmittel für Epoxidharze sowie gegebenenfalls noch ein weiteres Epoxidharz.
