Abstract

A dry-shaving apparatus having at least one shear plate (21) formed with hair-entry apertures, a multipart cutter (19) having cutting edges (51) and hair-pulling blades (45), which blades slidably engage said cutting edges and are movable over said shear plate, and a drive motor (11), which drives the cutter (19) with its hair-pulling blades, characterized in that the drive speed of the motor is periodically varied between a lower (3) and upper (5) speed value in order to obtain an effective pulling action and an effective cutting action respectively, the period (Tp ) being greater than the time required for the treatement of a single beard hair.
