Die Gröfse des Schwimmers k ist mit Bezug auf den Hebel f und dessen Gewicht so berechnet, dafs, wenn das Wasser in dem Kessel auf eine gewisse Höhe steigt, z. B. bis zur Linie n-n, Fig. .3, das Ventil d bis zu seinem Sitz c emporgehoben wird, und wenn das Wasser unter das Niveau n-n sinkt, das Ventil d niederfällt und den Durchgang zwischen dem oberen Theil des Cylinders b und dem Auslafsrohrp freigiebt, so dafs durch letzteres die in dem oberen Theile des Cylinders b angehäuften Gase in die äufsere Luft entweichen können.The apparatus shown in the drawing is fastened to the upper end of an ordinary preheating vessel by means of screw bolts which pass through the flanges a of the hollow cylinder b .
