Zum Ausspülen des Trichters ist ein Zufiufsrohr i angebracht. Der aufwärts strebende Druck des Wassers im Rohr d hält das Ventil h fortgesetzt gegen seinen Sitz angeprefst, ebenso wie Ventil e durch das aufströmende Wasser fest gegen seinen Sitz geprefst bleibt, so dafs also die Schlacken nicht wieder in den Trichter α zurückgelangen können.
