Zur Bildung eines Beutels ist zunächst die eine Längsseite zu versiegeln, um danach auch die andere Längsseite von der Folienbahn unter gleichzeitiger Verschweißung abtrennen zu können. Sodann läßt sich der Beutel von der seiner Faltung gegenüberliegenden Seite befüllen und nach dem Füllvorgang an dieser Seite erneut verschweißen bzw. versiegeln. Dazu wird unmittelbar vor dem Schweißvorgang entweder die im Folienbeutel vorhandene Luft ausgestrichten oder aber durch eine Luftabsaugvorrichtung des Folienschweißgerätes aus dem Folienbeutel abgesaugt. Es läßt sich jedoch vielfach nicht vermeiden, daß die Folienbahn im Bereich ihrer Schweiß- bzw. Trennzone verknittert, wodurch an diesen Knitterstellen der Folienbeutel nach seinem Schweiß-und Trennvorgang in einigen Fällen nicht mit Sicherheit dicht versiegelt ist, so daß Nachschweißungen erforderlich werden oder aber das Füllgut in einen anderen Folienbeutel umgepackt werden muß. Außer solchen Folienschweißgeräten, bei denen der Heizleiter sowohl zur Verschweißung als auch zur Trennung der Folienbahn vorgesehen ist, sind solche Folienschweißgeräte bekannt, bei denen der Heizleiter lediglich der Verschweißung der Folienbahn dient, während die Trennung des Folienbeutels von der Folienbahn mittels einer Schneidvorrichtung des Folienschweißgerätes mittels einem Messer od.dgl. erfolgt. Damit ist die Trennebene entfernt von der Schweiß- bzw. Versiegelungsebene, so daß durch den Trennvorgang keine Beeinflussung der Schweißnaht erfolgt.
