Description
Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung ist ein Brandgeschoß, welches im Innern einen Stahlkern und einen Abschlußpfropfen hat, zwischen welchen Teilen der Brandsatz, z. B. Phosphor, eingelagert ist. Solche Brandgeschosse werden gewöhnlich einfach so hergestellt, daß ein Stahlkern in die Spitze des Geschosses in Verbindung mit einem Bleihemd eingesetzt wird. Auf diesen Stahlkern, der bis zur Innenwandung abschließt, wird der Brandsatz aufgefüllt und die Füllung durch einen Metallpfropfen .abgeschlossen. Bei der praktischen Verwendung dieser Geschosse ergab sich, daß der im Bleihemd bzw. im Innenmantel festsitzende Stahlkern den getroffenen Gegenstand durchschlug, ohne daß der Brandsatz eine Entzündung verursachte, da dieser Brandsatz zum Teil zurückgestreift wurde, zum Teil so schnell durch die entstandene Öffnung durchflog, daß eine Entzündung des getroffenen Gegenstandes nicht verursacht wurde. Dieser Umstand wird laut vorliegender Erfindung dadurch behoben, daß der Stahlkern ohne Bleihemd eingefügt, den Mantel innen nicht vollständig ausfüllt, so daß um den Stahlkern herum Brandsatz, z. B. Phosphor, gelagert ist. Vor den Stahlkern, d. h. in die äußerste innere Spitze des Mantels, wird außerdem ein Zündsatz, bestehend aus einem den Brandsatz leicht entzündlichen und explosivfähigen Stoff, eingefügt. Trifft nun das Geschoß einen festen Gegenstand, so wird durch die Explosion des Zündsatzes bewirkt, daß der Mantel schnell auseinanderplatzt und der Brandsatz sofort entzündet wird. Außerdem reibt der äußere Umfang des Stahlkernes beim Durchbohren der durch den Stahlkern erzeugten Öffnung den ihn umgebenden Zünd- und Brandsatz derart, daß ebenfalls eine sofortige Entzündung erfolgt. Der mit Zünd- und Brandsatz umgebene Stahlkern wirkt ungefähr wie ein Streichholz oder ein Feuerstein, da dieser Stahlkern von allen Seiten, und insbesondere an den reibenden Rändern, mit einer Masse umgeben ist, die durch die Reibung sofort in Entzündung gebracht wird.
