Gegenstand des Patents 303678 ist ein Briefordner, Schnellhefter, Sammelmappe o. dgl., bei welchem sich der Doppelbügel zum Aufreihen der Brief- oder anderen Schriftbogen, wie er den meisten Schnellheftern eigen ist, von der senkrechten Lage in eine flach liegende umlegen läßt, zu dem Zwecke, die einzelnen Bogen nicht auf den aufrecht stehenden Bügelästen aufgereiht aufheben zu müssen, sondern sie so aufbewahren zu können, daß die Bügel auch im gefüllten Zustande flach liegen, die aufgereihten Bogen also schräg durchschneiden. Der Zweck dieser Anordnung ist der, daß man die einzelnen Bogen nicht erst über den Kurventeil der Bügel schieben muß, um die Schriftseite gänzlich frei vor sich zu haben, d. h. lesen zu können, sondern daß man an jeder beliebigen Stelle die Bogen so umschlagen und durchblättern kann, wie bei einem gebundenen Buche.
