Vor dem Luftabführungskanal der Pumpe ist noch eine aus schrägen Blechwänden gebildete Vorrichtung b zum Schütze der Luftpumpe gegen eindringendes Wasser gesetzt, c ist ein Lufthahn zum Einlafs von Luft, wenn das fertig behandelte Wasser durch den Hahn α in die Gefrierzellen der Eismaschine abgelassen werden soll. Die Einrichtung kann auch in der Weise benutzt werden, dafs man mittelst der Luftpumpe das Wasser, dessen Oberfläche alsdann so weit als möglich reducirt wird, bei gewöhnlicher oder wenig erhöhter Temperatur zum Kochen bringt, wobei das Rührwerk wegfallen kann.
