Loading/cargo support for attachment to pallets

Today's freight transport lacks supports that can be attached to freight pallets, which serve as a stabilizing support for the freight during loading and unloading and during transport of the loaded pallets and prevent it from falling off the pallet. The pallet collar, usually made of wood, which is common today and serves to simplify transport, limits the usable load area of the pallet due to its pallet-framing shape and makes it difficult to operate the pallet from the side. Other objects that are intended to support loads or transport offer only limited stability due to their technical shape and the fact that they are attached to only one of the two pallet levels. Both pallet collars and other objects that support loading or transport often do not allow them to be removed from the pallet while it is still loaded and the freight is secured, for example, by conveyor belts.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a stable and durable load support which, due to the shape of its attachment to the pallet, serves as a stable and durable support for the loaded freight during loading and unloading as well as during transport. Another underlying problem is to create a support which can also be removed from a loaded pallet and which also enables the loading of freight which, due to its dimensions, protrudes beyond the loading area of the pallet.

The problem described above is solved with the features listed in claim 1.

The invention ensures that the support arm, which is stabilized by edge folding and is attached tightly to the side of the pallet and can be attached to both pallet levels from the outside using two fastening plates, can reliably counteract the force of the outward-pressing lever effect exerted by the cargo, and the invention therefore represents a protective support. Furthermore, the invention offers the possibility of removing it from a loaded pallet because it is attached to the pallet from the outside and is attached from below to the upper loading surface of the pallet or from above to the lower standing surface of the pallet. Furthermore, it allows the loading of cargo that protrudes beyond the loading surface of the pallet.

An advantageous embodiment of the invention is specified in claim 2.

The further development according to claim 2 enables the user to attach the invention to pallets of different heights, whereby the locking device enables a quick and stable fixation to the pallet after the height adjustment.

Figure 1 shows the loading/cargo support unassembled with support arm 1, upper mounting plate 2, lower mounting plate 3, support arm extension 4, locking screw 5 and side plate 6.

In Figure 2, the loading/cargo support is shown mounted on a pallet, with the assembly on the pallet being carried out in such a way that the lower fastening plate 3 first rests on the outermost board of the lower pallet base from above and grips around its edges at the sides, after which the upper fastening plate 2 is brought close to the upper pallet loading surface from below by vertical adjustment along the support arm 1 until it lies tightly there and grips around the side edges of the outer board. The loading/cargo support is then attached to the pallet by screwing in the locking screw 5 to fix the upper fastening plate 2 in the desired position on the support arm 1.

Figures 3 and 4 serve to clarify the above explanations of the mounting on the pallet and the fastening arrangement. Figure 3 shows a partial side view of the support arm 1 with its support arm extension 4 and the lower mounting plate 3 extending from there. The figure also shows how the upper adjustable mounting plate 2 is attached to the support arm 1 by means of a locking device consisting of a locking screw 5 and intermediate plate 8, clamps around it with the side plates 6 on both sides and can be moved vertically within the elongated adjustment opening 9 in the support arm 1, through which the locking screw 5 leads.

Figure 4 shows a partial rear view of the support arm 1 with the lower fastening plate 3 and the upper vertically adjustable fastening plate 2 and the locking nut 7 fastened to the lower part of the fastening plate 2, into which the locking screw 5 placed on the opposite side engages. The intermediate plate 8 of the locking device can be seen through the adjustment opening 9.

Claims (2)

1. Loading/cargo support for attachment to pallets, the support arm ( 1 ) of which is made of at least 1 mm thick metal and is provided with two fastening plates ( 2 ) ( 3 ) which extend at a 90 degree angle from the support arm ( 1 ), whereby 1. at least one of the two mounting plates ( 2 ) ( 3 ) is vertically adjustable, 2. both the upper mounting plate ( 2 ) and the lower mounting plate ( 3 ) are bent at their ends at a 90-degree angle so that they can grip the outer pallet boards when mounted on the pallet, 3. the support arm ( 1 ) is provided at its lower end with a support arm extension ( 4 ) which projects at least 1 cm beyond the lower pallet support board in order to provide support there during assembly. 2. Loading/cargo support according to claim 1, whose upper fastening plate ( 2 ) is vertically adjustable along the support arm ( 1 ) and which can be fastened to the support arm ( 1 ) for fixing in the desired position by means of a locking device consisting of a locking screw ( 5 ), intermediate plate ( 8 ), adjustment opening ( 9 ) and locking nut ( 7 ).
