The invention relates to a lighting device according to the preamble of claim 1.
Residential, administrative, treatment and sales rooms are usually illuminated using incandescent and halogen lamps and other discharge lamps.
General requirements such as uniformity of lighting, miniaturization of the lights themselves, good color rendering, good glare limitation and a variable beam angle with high light output have led to the fact that incandescent lamps, low-voltage halogen lamps or fluorescent lamps are mainly used for the aforementioned purposes. These lamps are usually supplemented by reflectors or reflector systems in order to fulfill the desired lighting task. All conventional lights have in common that their lamps are held in sockets and are supplied with the required current via the respective socket, which is provided in the appropriate form from the mains or by means of ballasts such as chokes or transformers.
The lights are produced in the form of recessed and surface-mounted ceiling lights, floor and wall lights in any design.
The disadvantage of the current technology is that the service life of the lamps is relatively short and is at best 8,000 operating hours for fluorescent lamps. This results in high operating costs for the lamp, namely high replacement parts costs as well as high maintenance costs for the labor involved in replacing the lamp itself.
The poor efficiency of the above-mentioned lamps is at least as detrimental because a large part of the electrical energy is converted into convection heat and invisible infrared and ultraviolet radiation instead of visible light, which can also be harmful to health. Further disadvantages of conventional lamps arise from the fact that the size of the lamps, which is largely determined by the required reflector, is relatively large, and the color of the light emitted cannot be influenced. The positioning of the usual lighting fixtures requires a considerable amount of wiring under plaster, on ceilings or in the gaps between ceilings, or a visible supply line to floor lamps.
Luminescent diodes are known in the state of the art. They are generally semiconductor diodes that emit electromagnetic radiation when current flows in the forward direction. The wavelength of the emitted radiation is essentially determined by the semiconductor material used and is limited to a narrow wavelength range due to the electronic transitions that cause the emission.
In the current state of the art, the use of light-emitting semiconductor elements is essentially limited to use in signal elements, light barriers, punch card readers, IR remote controls and photodetectors.
The invention is based on the task of developing a lighting device that requires very little assembly and maintenance effort, that can also be subsequently integrated into rooms and that is also independent of a luminaire design.
Furthermore, the heating of the room by the lighting should be reduced and the light color and intensity should be variable. This is achieved according to the invention by providing a lighting device that is provided with an electrical assembly with at least one or more light-emitting semiconductor elements and with an integrated electrical circuit and power supply with which the semiconductor elements are controlled. A control circuit for the supply voltage in the manner of a potentiometer can also preferably be integrated into the respective power supply, which controls the brightness and color of the entire emitted light. Uniform lighting is, however, possible because the light-emitting semiconductor elements, which can emit light in different wavelength ranges, are controlled individually at the same time by means of an electrical circuit, thus resulting in essentially white light through additive superposition of the wavelength ranges. It is of course also possible to give the white light a color by adjusting the supply voltages applied to the respective light-emitting semiconductor elements or by choosing the semiconductor elements themselves, if this is desired for lighting reasons.
Since the light-emitting semiconductor elements have a service life of 100,000 hours, the invention offers the particular advantage that replacing the light source is virtually completely unnecessary.
The low temperatures of the light-emitting semiconductor elements and the power supply allow the use of highly flammable materials such as plastics as housing material, as well as plastic lenses or diffusers in the immediate vicinity of the light source to direct the light. This makes it possible to create a small, flat design that also fits into flush-mounted boxes, cable ducts, etc.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the lighting device according to the invention can, for example, be constructed in such a way that the device is made of plastic in a closed design that completely accommodates the semiconductor elements and the associated power supply and can be connected to the power grid using any connection. The design fits into commercially available flush-mounted boxes, cable ducts, etc. and adapts to the overall design of the switch range by using, for example, a system panel.
In another development of the lighting device according to the invention, an optical component is provided for directing the light, distributing the light intensity and homogenizing the light color. This component can be a lens of any design or a diffuser. The lighting devices integrated into the switch program emit the light generated in different directions depending on the position in which they are used and, as a whole, provide the complete room lighting.
Es zeigt:The invention is illustrated using an exemplary embodiment in the drawing figures and is explained in more detail below. It shows:
Fig. 1: einen Schnitt durch eine Unterputzinstallationsdose mit der erfindungsgemäßen Einrichtung;Fig. 1: a section through a flush-mounted installation box with the device according to the invention;
Fig. 2: eine Ansicht mit einer lichtverteilenden Optik.Fig. 2: a view with a light-distributing optic.
As can be seen from Fig. 1, an electronic assembly 6 is arranged in a flush-mounted installation box 4, which is provided with light-emitting semiconductor elements 1, 2, 3 on the front. Since the control and power supply of such assemblies is state of the art, a detailed representation with corresponding circuitry has been omitted. The three semiconductor elements shown here are only examples; of course, the device with one or more larger numbers of light sources is conceivable. The light-emitting elements can generate light in different wavelengths when controlled accordingly, so that different light colors are created. A complementary color of light can also be generated when controlled simultaneously. The light emission can be bundled or scattered by an optic 5 (Fig. 2), so that different lighting requirements can be created as desired.
