Description
The invention relates to fire protection glazing for preventing the passage of fire and smoke in the event of a fire from one room into another, with a plurality of partial surfaces made of fire protection glass arranged next to one another and facing one another at the vertical pane edges, made of a material that can withstand fire and heat for a long time, wherein a third partial surface is arranged between two partial surfaces made of fixed fire protection panes, which is provided with a closable opening over its width and part of its height.
Fire-resistant glazing is a translucent component that is designed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke, as well as the impermissible transfer of heat, within a specified fire resistance period. In the Federal Republic of Germany, fire-resistant glazing of fire resistance class F and fire resistance class G is standardized in DIN 4102 and explained in terms of the requirements.
Brandschutzscheiben werden in Rahmen befestigt, die hinsichtlich ihrer Größe und ihrer brandschutztechnischen Eigenschaften auf die verwendeten GlasscheibenFire-resistant glazing uses fire-resistant panes that are made up of multiple layers of glass panes with a fire-resistant layer between them. In the event of a fire, the protective agent contained in this layer is activated, whereby the pane absorbs heat radiation and forms a highly effective insulating layer. The originally transparent glazing is transformed into a practically opaque fire-resistant wall. Fire-resistant panes are attached to frames that are tailored to the glass panes used in terms of their size and fire-resistant properties.

Various fire protection glazings are known from the German utility model G 91 01 452. A fire protection glazing proposed there does not require additional strips of non-flammable or flame-retardant material and only uses a frame construction made of hollow steel profiles arranged in pairs, between which the fire protection panes are arranged. In the event of a fire, the hollow steel profiles glow red hot, but they do not melt and can therefore meet the fire protection requirements in terms of their load-bearing and supporting function. Another protective function is that in the event of a fire, the agent contained in the fire protection pane foams up and escapes from the impact surfaces of the fire protection pane. The joint arranged there is thereby closed, creating an overall fire and smoke-tight partition wall.
The disadvantage is that the hollow steel profiles used for the frame construction are not very visually appealing and therefore have to be covered with additional wooden strips or visible aluminum profiles, which visually enlarges the profiles and at the same time reduces the light penetration area of the fire-resistant glazing.
The invention is based on the object of creating a large-area fire-resistant glazing which is characterized by a large proportion of glass surface and at the same time good ventilation options.
To solve this problem, it is proposed in the case of fire-resistant glazing of the type mentioned above that the remaining area of the third partial area is closed by at least one permanently installed fire protection pane which extends over the entire width of the third partial area and whose vertical pane edges adjoin the pane edges of the fire protection panes of the adjacent partial areas, forming butt joints, the butt joints being filled with a sealant and the sealant being the only connection between the pane edges.
Eine solche Brandschutzverglasung bietet zunächst den Vorteil guter Lüftungsmöglichkeiten, da ein Teil der dritten Teilfläche mit einer verschließbaren Öffnung versehen ist, bei der es sich zum Beispiel um ein Holzfenster oder eineSuch fire protection glazing offers the advantage of good ventilation options, as part of the third part of the surface is provided with a closable opening, which can be a wooden window or a

Wooden door with glass filling. Another advantage is that the edges of the fixed panes in the area of their mutually facing abutting surfaces are not covered by profiles or other coverings, which means that a relatively large proportion of the fire protection glazing is made up of glass. The only connection between the edges of the panes and their abutting surfaces is a sealant with which the butt joint is filled. In the event of a fire, the agent contained in the two fire protection panes bordering the butt joint foams up and comes out of the front surfaces of the fire protection panes, whereby the butt joint is sealed by this agent after the sealant originally arranged in it melts or burns away beforehand or at the same time. A secure closure of the sensitive butt joint between the adjacent fire protection panes is therefore achieved even without profiles or coverings arranged to the side of the abutting surfaces, so that with regard to the construction according to the invention, as far as the vertical edges of the panes are concerned, one can speak of frameless glazing.
According to one design of the fire protection glazing, the partial surfaces are attached to the floor and ceiling of the room using wooden profiles that extend along the lower and upper horizontal edges of the panes and are doweled to the floor or ceiling. In one design, it is also proposed that the horizontal edges of the panes be attached between two wooden profiles each. As a combustible material, wood appears to be less suitable, at least for fire protection. However, the burning away of the wooden profiles doweled to the floor or ceiling on the side facing the source of the fire does not have a direct effect on the statics of the fire protection glazing for a certain period of time, since the wooden profiles on the side of the fire protection glazing facing away from the source of the fire still ensure sufficient positional security of the fire protection panes on their own. In addition, the protective agent that escapes from the abutting surfaces of the fire protection panes along the floor and ceiling in the event of a fire also improves the connection of the fire protection glazing to the floor or ceiling.
Im Sinne einesAccording to a further embodiment of the fire protection glazing, it is proposed that the lockable opening is a window or a door that is arranged so that it can pivot in a wooden frame. In the sense of a
For preventive fire protection, the window or door is preferably equipped with an automatic closing mechanism.
According to a further embodiment, the vertical frame parts of the wooden frame partially cover the edges of the fire protection panes of the adjacent partial areas. In this way, the wooden frame of the window or door contributes to increasing the static strength of the fire protection glazing by clamping the middle partial area of the fire protection glazing containing the window or door to the adjacent partial area by means of the overlapping area of the frame parts. To achieve the same advantage, it is also proposed that the width of the wooden frame is greater than the horizontal distance between the two partial areas that are located on either side of the third partial area provided with the wooden frame.
The fire protection glazing shown in its entirety in Fig. 1 consists of several glass surfaces that can be divided into several sub-surfaces 1, 2, 3. Each of the three sub-surfaces in the example is made up of fire protection panes, each of which is made of a special laminated glass which consists of several panes of glass with fire protection layers arranged in between with a protective agent. In the event of a fire, the protective agent is activated, whereby the fire protection panes absorb heat radiation and thus form an effective insulating layer that prevents the passage of fire and smoke. In the event of a fire, the activation of the fire protection layers also causes them to foam up and become cloudy, so that a practically opaque fire protection wall is created.
An Boden 6 bzw. The partial areas 1 and 2 of the fire protection glazing are fixed panes and each consist of a single fire protection pane 3 or 4, which extends vertically from the floor 6 to the ceiling 7 of the room. The fire protection panes 4, 5 are attached to the floor 6 or ceiling 7 using wooden profiles 8. The wooden profiles 8 are preferably doweled to the floor 6 or ceiling 7. The two external fire protection panes 4, 5 are also attached to the wall using appropriate wooden profiles 10, which extend along the vertical outer edges of the two external fire protection panes 4, 5 and are anchored in the walls 11 using suitable dowels. The horizontal wooden profiles 8 on the ceiling and the vertical wooden profiles 10 preferably extend in one piece over the entire width or height of the fire protection glazing.
The partial area 3, which is located between the partial areas 1 and 2, is itself made up of three individual areas 12, 13, 14. The upper individual area 12 is a permanently installed fire protection pane. The same applies to the lower individual area 13. The middle individual area 14, on the other hand, is a lockable opening in the form of a window 16 that can be pivoted in a wooden frame 15. The window frame 17 of the window 16 also consists of wooden profiles, and the surface of the window 16 consists of a fire protection pane. Hardwoods, such as beech or oak, are primarily considered as wood for all of the described wooden profiles, both for the fire protection glazing itself and for the window.
The window 16 is single-winged with two hinges 18 and a handle 19.
While all the outer edges of the fire protection glazing shown in Fig. 1 are held in corresponding wooden profiles 8, 10, and the same applies to the edges of the panes to which the wooden frame of the window 16 is adjacent, the remaining edges of the fire protection panes 4 are free of any frame parts. This applies to the vertical butt joints between the lower fire protection pane 13 of the middle part 3 and the adjacent fire protection panes 4, 5 on the one hand and the upper fire protection pane 12 of the middle part 3 and the adjacent fire protection panes 4, 5 on the other. These butt joints 20 are only filled with a sealant 22, preferably silicone, between their abutting surfaces 21 that face each other directly. Details of this can be seen in Fig. 4. The distance between the abutting surfaces 21 and thus the width of the butt joint filled with the sealant 22 is between 3 and 10 mm. In the event of a fire, the silicone burns and, as a result of the activation of the protective agent in the fire protection panes, it escapes from the abutment surfaces 21 and closes the butt joint 20 in a very short time, simultaneously displacing any silicone that may still be present there. A lateral covering of the pane edges and the butt joints 20 is neither necessary nor present.
Fig. 5 shows that both the wooden frame 15 and the window frame 17 pivotably mounted therein are made up of wooden profiles 23, 24. The wooden profile 23 is relatively voluminous and designed in the shape of an L-angle. The respective fire protection pane 14, 5 rests against one leg 31 of this wooden profile 23 with its one pane edge 25 and its abutment surface 26, with a spacer block 27 being located directly between the abutment surface 26 and the wooden profile 23 in order to ensure a sufficiently wide butt joint 28.
The other wooden profile 24 holds the opposite pane edge 29, for which purpose the other wooden profile 24 is screwed to the relatively voluminous wooden profile 23. A sealant 30 closes the gap between the pane edges 25, 29 and the legs 31, 32 of the wooden frame 15 or the window frame 17 formed by the wooden profiles 23, 24.
The sectional view in Fig. 5 also shows in particular that the wooden frame 15 of the window covers the pane edges 25, 29 of the fire protection pane with the two legs 31, 32 of its vertical frame parts. A similar overlap also occurs with regard to the pane edges of the fire protection pane 4 shown on the left in Figs. 1 to 3. The width of the wooden frame 15 is therefore greater than the horizontal distance between the two partial surfaces 1, 2 that are located on both sides of the central partial surface 3 provided with the window 15. In this way, a certain clamping of the three partial surfaces 1, 2, 3 that are otherwise not connected by wooden frames is achieved.
Fig. 6 shows a vertical section through the wooden frame 15 and the window frame 17 of the window 16. It can be seen that the horizontal frame parts of the wooden window are also made up of two parts, a more voluminous wooden profile 23 and an additional, strip-shaped wooden profile 24. Also visible in Fig. 6 is a locking mechanism 33, which leads to an automatic closing of the wooden window.
Finally, Fig. 7 shows an alternative embodiment of the fire protection glazing, in which the wooden window according to Figs. 1 to 6 is replaced by a door with a wooden frame and filling made of fire protection glass. In this construction too, the butt joints 20 between the fixed fire protection panes 4, 12, 5 of the three partial surfaces 1, 2, 3 are connected to one another exclusively via the sealing means 22, but not via additional cover profiles. The sectional view according to Fig. 4 therefore also applies equally to the butt joints 20 shown in Fig. 7. In Fig. 7, IV-IV therefore indicates the horizontal plane to which Fig. 4 also applies.
