SehhilfeVisual aid
The invention relates to a visual aid according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
At larger events, such as sporting events, outdoor music performances, etc., it is often impossible or difficult for visitors to fully follow the event visually.
The object of the invention is to show a visual aid which avoids this disadvantage and can be carried comfortably and is quickly available when needed. To solve this problem, a visual aid is designed in accordance with patent claim 1.
According to a first aspect, the visual aid according to the invention is a periscope which can be folded up into a small size when not in use and can therefore be conveniently carried in a pocket, for example in a piece of clothing. If necessary, the periscope is inflated so that it is then a sufficiently rigid structure with the necessary dimensions, in particular length dimensions, in order to be able to visually follow the course of an event even from an unfavorable position.
According to another aspect of the invention, the visual aid is an inflatable telescope or monocular. Here too, the telescope or monocular can be folded up into a small format and thus easily transported and is quickly available when needed by inflating it.
Es zeigen:Further developments of the invention are the subject of the subclaims. The invention is explained in more detail below using the figures and exemplary embodiments. They show:

The periscope 1 shown in Figures 1 and 2 consists in the embodiment shown of a substantially cuboid-shaped frame with four vertical frame elements 2, with four upper frame elements 3, i.e. forming the top of the periscope 1, which in the embodiment shown enclose a rectangle with each other, and with four lower frame elements 4 forming the bottom of the periscope 1, each of which lies parallel to a frame element 3.
The frame elements 2-4 are each made in the form of a tube from a thin, air-impermeable material, preferably plastic, and each form an air chamber 5 on the inside. The air chambers 5 of all frame elements 2-4 are connected to one another, but are sealed to the outside. A nipple 6 is formed on a frame element 4 on the underside of the periscope 1, which is connected to the air channels 5 and can be closed at its outer, free end by a suitable closure 7. The frame elements 2-4 can be inflated with the mouth above the nipple 6 in such a way that they form a rigid cuboid-shaped frame. The closed nipple 6 then protrudes over the underside of the periscope 1 or the frame and can be used as a handle for holding the periscope. A carrying strap 8 is also attached to the nipple 6.
In principle, it is also possible to provide a hand pump mechanism instead of the nipple 6 or in addition to it, which in the simplest case is formed by a ball-like bellows which has an air intake opening provided with a check valve and is connected to the air chambers 5 of the frame elements 2 - 4.
The closed surfaces of the periscope housing Γ located between the frame elements 2-4, namely the top 9, the bottom 10, the back 11, the front 12 and the two vertical side surfaces of the periscope 1 are formed from cuts made of a deformable flat material, for example a plastic film, which are connected in a suitable manner to the frame elements 2-4. The aforementioned cuts are preferably designed in the same color as the frame elements 2-4 and provided with corresponding prints or graphic structures on the outside. In principle, the areas between the frame elements 2 - 4 in particular can also be used as areas for advertising or other information, etc.
A viewing opening 14 is provided at the bottom of the vertical rear side 11. A viewing opening is formed at the top of the front side 12 near the top side 9. Both openings 14 and 15 can be closed by a window, but then a ventilation option for the housing interior 17 of the periscope 1 is provided. At least at the opening 14, a frame 16 is formed that encloses it, for example from a bead of material. The frame 16 can also be inflatable, i.e. form an air chamber corresponding to the air chamber 5, which can then either be inflated separately, but preferably together with the frame elements 2-4 via the common nipple 6. The frame 16 improves the positioning of the periscope on the user's eye.
Hierdurch ergibt sich dann entsprechend dem Pfeil A der Figur 2 eine Blick- oder Sichtweg durch das Periskop 1, und zwar zunächst durch die Öffnung 14 auf den Spiegel 18, von diesem dann parallel zur Vorderseite und Rückseite 11 nach obenTwo mirrors are housed in the space 17, namely a lower mirror 18 and an upper mirror 19, which are each arranged parallel to one another in planes E, which enclose an angle of 45° with the longitudinal extension of the vertical frame elements 2 of the inflated frame, but lie parallel to the edges formed between the top 9 or bottom 10 and the front 12 or rear 11 of the periscope 1. This then results in a viewing or visual path through the periscope 1 according to arrow A in Figure 2, namely first through the opening 14 to the mirror 18, from there then parallel to the front and rear 11 upwards.
Rückseite 11 durch die Öffnung 15.onto the mirror 19 and from there perpendicularly to the plane of the front side 12 or rear side 11 through the opening 15.
The two mirrors 18 and 19, which each consist, for example, of an essentially rigid plastic plate which is suitably mirrored on the side acting as a mirror, for example by vapor deposition, are fastened in the interior 17 in a suitable manner, for example by welding to the material of the frame elements 2-4 or the film closing the areas between the frame elements.
It is understood that the material for the frame elements 2-4 and for the surfaces 9-13 is chosen in such a way that light does not pass through this material, or at least is strongly attenuated, so that the function of the periscope is not impaired by external scattered light entering the interior 17.
Since the supporting frame of the periscope 1 formed by the frame elements 2-4 is inflatable, it is possible to fold the periscope 1 into a small, handy size by opening the closure 7, whereby only the mirrors 18 and 19 are rigid, albeit relatively small and very flat elements. In the folded, i.e. not inflated, state, the periscope can be stored in a bag, etc. without any problems.
If the periscope is needed, it can be easily inflated, either with the mouth via the open nipple 6 or with the hand pump mechanism mentioned above.
It was assumed above that the air chambers 5 formed in the frame elements 2-4 are connected to one another and can be inflated using the common nipple 6. Of course, designs are also conceivable in which the frame elements 2-4 form several separate air chambers 5, each of which can then be inflated using its own nipple 6.
Furthermore, it is also possible to make at least some of the walls of the periscope housing 1' double-walled and thus inflatable, in addition to or instead of the frame elements 2-4. In principle, it is also possible to design the periscope 1 or its interior 17 as a tight, inflatable air chamber, although the frame with the inflatable frame elements 2-4 offers the advantage that the periscope 1 has the desired cuboid shape when inflated.
If the interior 17 of the periscope forms an inflatable air chamber, the openings 14 and 15 are of course closed by the aforementioned windows. The latter are then each formed, for example, by a cut-out of a crystal-clear film.
Furthermore, it is also possible in principle to design the periscope 1 with a slanted top and bottom side, whereby these sides then lie in the planes E of the mirrors 18 and 19 and can be formed directly by these mirrors.
Die Wandung des Gehäuses 21 besteht zumindest in einem Teilbereich aus einem elastischen Material derart, daß durch Änderung des Innendruckes des aufgeblasenen Gehäuses 21 der axiale Abstand zwischen dem Objektiv 22 und dem Okular 23 verändert werden kann, und zwar für eine Entfernungseinstellung zumindest innerhalbFigures 4 and 5 show a further embodiment of the visual aid according to the invention, a telescope or telescope 20, which is optically designed, for example, in accordance with the Galilean telescope and has the objective 22 at one end of the tubular housing 21 and the eyepiece 23 at the other end of this housing. In the embodiment shown, both the objective 22 and the eyepiece 23 are designed, for example, as single-lens and consist, for example, of a plastic lens. In the simplest case, the housing 21 forms an inflatable air chamber that is closed to the outside, so that the telescope 20 can also be folded up in a space-saving manner when not inflated and can be used after the housing 21 has been inflated. The wall of the housing 21 consists, at least in a partial area, of an elastic material such that by changing the internal pressure of the inflated housing 21, the axial distance between the objective 22 and the eyepiece 23 can be changed, namely for a distance setting at least within
Der Pumpenmechanismus 24 dient dann zugleich als auch Haltegriff für das Teleskop 20.a specific area and for individual vision correction of the user. The housing 21 is inflated either via a nipple corresponding to the nipple 6, or via a pump mechanism 24, which corresponds to the hand pump mechanism already described above and is provided on the side of the housing 21 and extends radially away from it. The pump mechanism 24 then also serves as a handle for the telescope 20.
Figure 5 shows another possibility of binoculars 26, which differs from telescope 20 only in that a lens 22 and an eyepiece 23 are provided in one light path for each of the user's eyes. Binoculars 26 have two housings 21a arranged parallel to one another, which are connected to one another via a crossbar 27. Both housings 21a and crossbar 27 are in turn inflatable. For example, the pump mechanism used for inflation is provided on crossbar 27, or crossbar 27 is itself designed as such a mechanism. In principle, it is also possible to provide nipples on crossbar 27 and/or on housings 21a, corresponding to nipple 6, for inflation by mouth. Furthermore, it is also possible in particular to inflate both housings 21a individually.
The distance setting or adaptation to an individual visual impairment is again carried out by changing the air pressure within the housing 21a, which is made of an elastically stretchable material at least in part.
In both the telescope 20 and the telescope 26, the housings 21 and 21a for distance adjustment and/or for adaptation to individual visual impairments can also be designed in such a way that they mechanically enable a change in the optical distance or the axial distance between the respective objective 22 and eyepiece 23, for example by pulling them apart. In this case, the housings 21 and 21a each consist of two housing parts that can be moved telescopically relative to one another, which are double-walled and inflatable.
Figure 6 shows a headband 29 with a molded-on support arm 30. The binoculars 26 are held on this support arm 30, with one end of the support arm 30 being connected to the crosspiece 27. The headband 29 and the support arm 30 are again made of a suitable material, for example plastic, and are inflatable.
Figure 7 shows a further possibility, a peaked cap 31, to which the support arm 30 is attached with the telescope 26. The two versions in Figures 6 and 7 offer the user the advantage of being able to follow an event through the telescope 26 without having to hold the telescope 26 manually.
In principle, it is of course also possible to implement the head attachment for the telescope 20 or telescope 26 in another way, for example by using bands or similar fastening elements, in particular in such a way that subsequent attachment to a separate peaked cap 31 or to a separate headband is possible.
