For several years now, manually operated kitchen slicers and graters that can be used to chop up vegetables, fruit, etc. have been on offer on the market.

These devices can lead to accidents, especially when the user has already chopped up the food to be cut to a considerable size - as the fingertips can get caught in the cutting surface.

The currently available graters with a plug-in attachment have a disadvantage in that if they slip off the guide, plastic pieces can get into the salad and hygiene is no longer guaranteed.

The safety attachment (sliding device) registered here prevents these dangers and disadvantages from occurring.

Thirdly, from this original block (Fig. 1 part 3) which is made of hardwood and is coated with clear varnish to prevent odors, while the base plate (Fig. 1 part 1) and the top (Fig. 1 part 2) are made of stainless steel and thus provide better hygiene.

Fourthly, the associated clamping frame (Fig. 2 part 4) which is made of wood, metal or plastic enables the sliced product to be planed or grated evenly, even for normal, simple kitchen graters - slicers on salad bowls. The grater should be clamped approximately in the middle of the clamping frame in order to achieve easy sliding of the safety attachment - sliding device.

Since the vegetables to be sliced are often of different sizes, they are first cut into pieces with a knife so that these pieces can just about fit, or are slightly smaller, into the filling cup (Fig. 1, Part 2).

In order to avoid jamming of the material to be sliced, it is recommended, as with larger onions, to pre-cut the onion into A pieces using a plesser and to slice only a quartered piece at a time.

When slicing long vegetables, such as cucumbers, the cucumber is held in the sliding device by hand as it is pushed back and forth until the pressure block (Fig. 1, part 3) can be properly positioned, but first the end of the cucumber is cut off with a slicer, as with a truncated cone, to ensure that the surface of the pressure block rests evenly.

This safety sliding device is made of stainless steel, but can also be made of plastic, is rustproof, easy to clean and can therefore last for a long time.

The corresponding frame can be made of wood (with clear varnish), vinyl or plastic and is also easy to clean.
