An das sogenannte Verschlußende des Vorderteiles 5, welches sich in der Zeichnung oben befindet, schließt sich eine Verschlußlasche 9 an, die dann, wenn das Rückenteil 6 in Richtung des Pfeiles 8 zur Bildung der Tasche 7 gefaltet und ein Schriftstücke, beispielsweise ein Werbedruck, in die dann flache Tasche 7 eingesteckt wurde, in Richtung des Pfeiles 10 nach unten gegen das Rückenteil 6 bewegt und mit diesem verklebt wird. Ein derartig geschlossener Briefumschlag 1 kann nun in der üblicher Weise verschickt werden. Gemäß der Erfindung schließt sich an das Rückenteil 6 des Briefumschlages 1 eine zusätzliche Lasche 11a bzw. 11b an, die gemäß den Fign. 2 und 3 unterschiedlich lang bzw. unterschiedlich breit ausgebildet ist. Diese Lasche 11a, 11b wird nun bei der Faltung des Zuschnittes 4 zum Briefumschlag 1 nach innen gefaltet und liegt dann an der Innenseite des Rückenteiles 6 an.
