Electronic theft or vandalism protection

The invention relates to an electronic theft or vandalism protection device for service machines in which money or goods are stored, such as parking meters or parking ticket, ticket, cigarette or vending machines of a general type or others.

Service machines in which money or goods are stored, such as parking meters or parking tickets, tickets, cigarettes or vending machines of a general nature, etc., are repeatedly exposed to criminal activity, e.g. through theft or vandalism. In particular, the theft of money or goods from the service machines, e.g. by breaking into these machines or the theft of entire service machines, leads to unexpectedly high losses. For example, a parking ticket machine can contain daily income of up to DM 5,000.

The object of the invention is to provide a device that prevents theft or vandalism for service machines in which money or goods are stored, such as parking meters or parking ticket, ticket, cigarette or vending machines of a general type or others.

The object is achieved according to the invention by an electronic theft or vandalism protection for such service machines, whereby the theft and vandalism protection is designed to automatically detect the possible theft of the service machine using sensors and to report it after detection. The independent detection and reporting of a theft or damage by the service machine leads to a rapid prosecution of such crimes. In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the electronic anti-theft or anti-vandalism device has a vibration sensor. Such a sensor is particularly well suited to detecting damage to the device, e.g. due to impacts or attempted break-ins. If the service machine as a whole is stolen, a vibration sensor can detect the dismantling of the service machine, the service machine being torn out of its anchorage, its loading and its transport.

In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the anti-theft or anti-vandalism device has an inclination sensor. Similar to a vibration sensor, an inclination sensor is able to detect movements of a service machine. While a vibration sensor specifically detects accelerations, an inclination sensor detects changes in position. Careful dismantling of a service machine, careful loading or careful transport may not be detectable with a vibration sensor, but may be detectable with an inclination sensor. This applies in particular to machines that are anchored in such a way that dismantling the machine always requires the machine to be tilted.

In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the anti-theft or anti-vandalism device has a location sensor, e.g. a GPS receiver. This is particularly suitable for detecting the theft of entire service machines via the deviation between the target and actual position of the service machine. In the case of transporting a service machine equipped in this way, the movement of the GPS receiver can lead to shadowing, e.g. when driving through bridges or during transport in a

locked vehicle. Such shadowing of the GPS signal is also detected by the GPS receiver and can be used as an alarm criterion.

In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the theft or vandalism protection has an acoustic and/or optical signaling device, e.g. a loudspeaker or a lamp. Such signaling devices generally have a deterrent effect. It is also advantageous to supplement or replace the acoustic and optical signals on site with a wirelessly transmitted alarm message. Such an alarm message can be transmitted to a police operations center via a radio telephone, for example. This can be combined particularly advantageously with a design of the theft or vandalism protection in such a way that it transmits its position wirelessly continuously or at short intervals when theft is detected.

In another advantageous embodiment of the anti-theft or vandalism protection, it is designed as a retrofit kit for service machines. This makes it easier to retrofit existing machines and also makes installation in different types of machines particularly easy.
