Description
Dipl.-Ing. Walter RatzDipl.-Ing. Walter Ratz
The invention relates to installation elements that consist of raw rubber plates and metal cables housed between them as monitoring elements against damage and associated electronic identification assemblies. After installation in conveyor belts that are to be manufactured or have already been manufactured, they are able to monitor the conveyor belt thus assembled against damage with the help of a stationary electronic reading device and to determine the specified identity marking of each monitoring element.
Short-circuit rings made of a metal cable are known for monitoring slits on conveyor belts (DE-G 90 05 137.8), which form the two ends of the metal cable into an electrical short-circuit ring using a metal sleeve, which is then able to transmit signals induced by a stationary transmitter to a stationary receiver. The disadvantage of this design is that the short-circuit ring, with its short-circuiting of both metal cable ends, which is problematic in terms of production technology, is not always sufficient to create a permanent, electrically perfect connection that can withstand the rough operating loads. In addition, the extension of the short-circuit ring in the direction of movement of the conveyor belt must be relatively large in order to ensure that there is sufficient time for the transmitter signal to be transmitted to the receiver via the short-circuit ring, which means that relatively large elements have to be inserted into the conveyor belts to be monitored. A further disadvantage is that with complex electronics, the presence of each short-circuit ring must be checked at the right time, when the conveyor belt with the built-in short-circuit ring moves past the transmitter and receiver, which requires synchronism between the conveyor belt and the electronics monitoring it. Direct identification cannot take place with the monitoring electronics.
These disadvantages are avoided by the following invention, which has set itself the task of providing a practical design using simple means that can be easily vulcanized into a conveyor belt and contains all the necessary assemblies for monitoring and identifying the monitoring elements housed in the conveyor belt. According to the invention, a design for vulcanizing into conveyor belts is proposed, which has an identification assembly in electrical contact with an elongated metal wire, which is housed between two raw rubber plates and, after vulcanization in a conveyor belt, is used to check the integrity of the metal cable and to transmit this information with its identification marking to a stationary reading device located outside the moving conveyor belt and to feed it to an evaluation electronics for further operational decisions.
Fig. 1 das Einbauelement,
Fig. 2 einen Schnitt durch das Einbauelement,The invention is described in more detail with reference to Fig. 1...3. The drawing shows:
Fig. 1 the installation element,
Fig. 2 a section through the installation element,
Fig. 3 einen Schnitt durcrf^ne'fetektroMiscrtSidentlffziedfngsbaugruppe. Fig. 3 is a cross-section through a fetelectronic side-detection assembly.
Fig.1 shows a top view of the installation element 1 with its external contours, in which is located the metal cable 2, for example in a corrugated design, as a monitoring element against damage and the electronic identification module 3 connected to it. This is preferably located at an external point of the installation element and receives its operating and signaling energy inductively from a stationary reading unit. The operating energy is simultaneously used to check the metal cable 2 as a monitoring element for integrity and to report this condition and its identification marking to the stationary reading unit. The representation of the corrugated metal cable is not to be understood as a scale specification, but is only intended to better illustrate the design of the invention. In order to achieve a particularly small design, the two longitudinal sections of the metal cable can be placed within a few millimeters of each other, for example, to avoid a short circuit, or they can be designed as a monitoring element, concentric and insulated from each other, as a single cable that appears to the outside and is connected at its ends, preferably corrugated.
Fig.2 shows the structure of the installation element 1 in section A (according to Fig.1), whereby the connection 4 of the metal cable 2 to the identification assembly 3 is shown. The metal cable 2 formed in the manner described above and the identification assembly 3 connected to it are hermetically sealed by means of raw rubber plates δ and 6 respectively and, where necessary, supplemented with filler rubber 7. The illustration in Fig.2 is not to scale, in particular the identification element 3 can be designed in such a way that it does not protrude beyond the contours of the rest of the installation element 1.
In Fig.3, the design of the identification module 3 is shown as an example in a sectional drawing. In it, 8 represents the actual electronics, which are housed in a metal sleeve 9 provided with a slot 10 for electrical reasons for mechanical protection, and whose electrical connections 12, which are insulated from the metal sleeve 9, lead outwards for connection to the metal cable 2. For better handling, the electronics 8 in the metal sleeve 9 are closed on both open sides with filling rubber 11.
