Description Binder strips for holding bound documents

Advertising brochures, price lists, product information, leaflets, instructions for use and similar items are usually available in the form of bound or folded brochures. Many of these documents must be stored for a longer period of time according to systematic principles in order to have them available quickly and easily when needed. They are usually stored in normal file folders or hanging files. These documents must be prepared for storage by punching holes, attaching a perforated adhesive strip or placing them in a transparent sleeve.

Often, punching is not possible because the documents are too thick or no margin was provided during printing, so that information is lost through punching. Often, the document should be preserved in its original state, which also speaks against punching. The thickness of the document and the fact that the brochure must first be removed and then reinserted in order to leaf through it often speak against storing it in a transparent sleeve. Applying punched adhesive strips is expensive on the one hand and not very environmentally friendly on the other, since the adhesive strips cannot be recycled and must be thrown away with the used document. Information is also lost if there is no margin on the document. These circumstances usually lead to the documents in question simply being stacked up and unnecessary time being spent finding them again.

The invention specified in the protection claim is based on the problem of creating a filing strip that allows all bound or nested documents to be stored in file folders or hanging files easily, quickly and without damaging the original.

This problem is solved with the features listed in the protection claim.

The invention enables thin and thick bound documents to be filed quickly and easily according to systematic principles without time-consuming pre-treatment and without additional tools, whereby the document itself is not changed, the filing strip according to the invention can be reused and the document can be leafed through without removing it from the folder. The invention therefore enables a simple, quick, inexpensive and environmentally friendly way of filing bound or nested documents.

Examples of embodiments are now explained using Figures 1 to 4. They show:

Figure 1 shows the filing strip designed for filing in standard file folders or loose-leaf binders

Figure 2 shows the filing strip designed for filing in hanging files

Figure 3 the bound brochure inserted in the binding strip for filing in file folders and

Figure 3 shows the bound brochure inserted into the filing strip for filing in hanging files.

Figure 1 shows the binding strip (1) with the holes (3) required for filing in file folders and the recess (2) important for holding bound or nested brochures. Figure 2 shows the binding strip (4) with the recess (2) according to the invention for filing in hanging files with the typical hanging device (5). This binding strip also offers the possibility of attaching a "label tab" (6).

The bound or loosely interleaved brochures (7) are simply opened to about half the page number without punching or other preparations and inserted into the recess (2) (Figures 3 and 4). The brochure can now be filed in folders or placed in hanging files according to systematic organizational criteria. If required, the brochure can be leafed through without removing it from the folder or filing strip. The brochure (J) can be removed again without changing its original state and used for other purposes or disposed of. The filing strip (2,4) can now hold new brochures. The filing strip according to the invention thus offers a simple, quick, inexpensive and environmentally friendly way of filing bound or interleaved brochures.
