SchutzhandschuhProtective glove
The invention relates to a protective glove, in particular for fire service and disaster relief operations as well as for rescue services.
Conventional firefighter gloves are usually made of leather and have reinforcements on the back of the gloves in the area around the knuckles. These leather gloves are comfortable to wear , but they are not sufficiently temperature-resistant and do not conduct heat relatively well to the skin. In addition, the mechanical stability of the gloves is often not sufficient. When handling sharp-edged objects, such as broken glass , leather does not offer sufficient protection. Liquids can also penetrate through leather, which is not only unpleasant for the wearer, but can also pose a health risk if chemicals or HIV-infected blood penetrate the gloves.
The invention is based on the object of creating a glove, in particular for fire service use, which avoids the above-mentioned disadvantages.
G 8297 DE - 2G 8297 EN - 2
The object is achieved by a glove of the type mentioned at the outset, which is characterized according to the invention by an outer layer made of a heat-resistant textile fiber with low thermal conductivity, an intermediate layer made of a cut- and puncture-resistant textile fiber and a heat-resistant inner lining with a membrane that is impermeable to liquids in one direction and is breathable.
This protective glove meets all the safety requirements of a firefighter's glove. The outer layer is heat-resistant and its low thermal conductivity ensures that heat cannot be transferred to the inside of the glove. The cut- and puncture-resistant intermediate layer also allows handling of sharp-edged objects such as broken windows, sharp-edged sheet metal parts and the like. The membrane on the inner lining, which is impermeable to liquids in one direction, prevents all types of liquids from penetrating, but does not prevent sweat from being drawn away from the body in the form of water vapor. The membrane is also breathable , so that the glove is very comfortable to wear. The intermediate layer can be made of a fleece made of para-aramid fibers, onto which a fabric made of aramid fibers is laminated as the outer layer of the glove. A suitable fleece material here is, for example, the material known under the trade name "Kevlar". The outer layer can, for example, be made of the aramid fiber fabric known as "Komex". Nomex fabric could not previously be used for gloves because fibers can easily come loose from this fabric at the seams. However, by laminating this fabric onto a Kevlar fleece, these disadvantages can be eliminated, so that this fabric can now also be used for glove production. A membrane generally known as "Gore-Tex" is particularly suitable for the inner lining and can be laminated onto a heat-resistant material.

To increase wearing comfort, an insert made of elastic para-amide fibers, which is coated with silicone on the outside, can be provided on the inside of the glove and on the back of the glove in the knuckle area. The glove then adapts to all movements of the hand. The silicone coating ensures high heat resistance and low flammability. Further advantages can be achieved by providing the glove with a long cuff that also protects the forearm. To improve the visibility of the wearer of the glove, strips made of a light-reflecting material can also be applied to both the back of the glove and the cuff.
A preferred embodiment of a protective glove according to the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing.

Auf dem Handschuhrücken 10.1 ist im Bereich der Fingerknöchel ein Einsatz 13 aus einem begrenzt elastischen Material, aus demThe glove 10 according to Fig. 1 and 2 is a finger glove with a cuff 11 that extends far beyond the wrist. Strips 12 made of a light-reflecting material are sewn all the way onto the cuff 11. This makes the wearer of the glove more visible in the dark. On the back of the glove 10.1, in the area of the knuckles, there is an insert 13 made of a material with limited elasticity, from which

Durch diese Materialkombination erfüllt der erfindungsgemäße Handschuh sämtliche Anforderungen an einen Feuerwehrhandschuh, wie geringe Entflammbarkeit, Hitzebeständigkeit, geringe Wärmeleitfähigkeit, hohe Schnitt- und Stichfestigkeit, Wasserundurchlässigkeit und Atmungsaktivität. the inner surface of the glove 10.2 is also made of. The material layer sequence of the glove 10 in the area of this insert 13 and the adjacent material layer sequences are illustrated in the sectional view in Fig. 3. The glove 10 has an inner glove made of a heat-resistant material 14 that is laminated with a membrane 15 that is impermeable to liquids in one direction and breathable. The back of the glove, with the exception of the insert 13, and the cuff 11 consist of a Kevlar fleece 16, onto which a fabric made of heat-resistant Nomex fibers 17 is laminated. In the area of the ankle insert 13 and on the inner surface of the glove 10.2, where a higher elasticity of the material is required, the Kevlar fleece 16 is replaced by a Kevlar loop fabric 18 that is silicone-coated on its outside. This silicone coating 19 of the Kevlar loop fabric 18 ensures good heat resistance of the Kevlar fabric, which is particularly cut and puncture resistant. Thanks to this material combination, the glove according to the invention meets all the requirements for a firefighter's glove, such as low flammability, heat resistance, low thermal conductivity, high cut and puncture resistance, water impermeability and breathability.
