glühender Körper.glowing body.
Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 26. Mai 1915 ab.Patented in the German Empire on May 26, 1915.
The invention relates to an apparatus for observing chemical processes and for determining the temperature of glowing bodies in closed and open spaces.
The apparatus is particularly suitable for carbon determinations in steel and iron to observe the combustion of the sample, whereby the carbon burns to carbonic acid. The new consists in the features identified in the claims.
In der Zeichnung ist der Apparat dargestellt. The apparatus is shown in the drawing.
The substance weighed in a porcelain boat is placed in a porcelain tube (shown in dashed lines), which rests in an oven heated to about 1250 °, below Application of oxygen melted.
The oxygen gas is introduced on one side of the porcelain pipe with the exclusion of the outside air and escapes together with the volatile carbonic acid gas through the hose nozzle of the pipe section A connected to the opposite end of the pipe .
The carbon dioxide is then collected and determined either by weight or weight analysis.
The pipe section A is an airtight cap with hose nozzle and converging lens C. This part of the apparatus can also be used alone and through the lens, which in this case serves as an eyepiece, the processes in the porcelain tube can be observed. The second part of the apparatus, the elbow B, is expediently screwed to the first part A by means of a thread. By combining these two parts, the apparatus gains convenience in handling and practical value, because it allows the process to be followed from the opposite side.
The bundle of light rays is reflected by a mirror E from A to the other leg of B , and so the combustion can be observed at the same time in the same position in which one is operating the apparatus.
The lens D on the free leg of B is convex and serves as an eyepiece for these assembled parts, while lens C serves as an objective.
To protect the eyes, you can switch monochrome glass F on or off as you wish. It is this z. B. a green or blue glass, which weakens the light.
Mirror E can be rotated on its axis, but is locked.
For certain examinations, an electric incandescent body can be placed in the apex of the two legs can be used. Instead of this embodiment, a concave mirror can also be used instead of the usual mirror.
In this compilation the apparatus for observing the combustion of the Samples and gases are used while the rest of the apparatus is operated at the same time. That Oxygen and carbonic acid gas is passed on through the hose nozzle.
The known type of optical pyrometer G is only used temporarily and is used to determine the temperature. The glass F is switched off. The pyrometer is placed on the free leg of B and adjusted in a known manner.
Außerdem kann man mittels dieses Pyrometers mit angeschlossenem Winkelrohr B ohne Beobachtungsglas A in Schmelz-, Glüh- und ίο sonstigen öfen die Temperatur feststellen, ohne das Gesicht der ausstrahlenden Hitze auszusetzen, was die Einstellung wesentlich erleichtert. In addition, you can use this pyrometer with connected angle tube B without observation glass A in melting, annealing and ίο other furnaces to determine the temperature without exposing the face to the radiant heat, which makes the setting much easier.
