Die Erfindung geht von der Überlegung aus, daß sich an der Stirnseite des Ofens das Futter nicht so ausbauen läßt, daß es sich ohne Einfassung von selbst trägt, daß dies aber möglich ist, sobald die Auslaßöffnungen an den Umfang verlegt werden. Die Anordnung von Auslaßöffnungen am Umfang ist an sich bekannt, z. B. da, wo von dem Drehofen Verbindungsrohre zu mitumlaufenden Kühltrommeln abzweigen. Die Erfindung besteht darin, daß der die seitlichen Auslaßöffnungen des Ofenfutters bildende Baustoff so gestaltet wird, daß er sich selbst trägt, ohne eine Einfassung der Öffnung am Mantelfutter zu benötigen. Zum Schütze gegen das Abbrennen der Kanten der Mantelöffnungen überragt dabei das Ofenfutter diese Kanten.
