Es wurde gefunden, daß die Sauerstoffverbindungen der seltenen Erdmetalle, insbesondere des Cers, ausgezeichnet befähigt sind, bei höherer Temperatur eine Umsetzung von Wasserdampf mit Kohlenoxyd zu bewirken, so daß in technisch befriedigender Weise Wasserstoff gewonnen werden kann.
