Die in beiliegender Zeichnung, Fig. 1, dargestellte Elementar-Rechenmaschine besteht aus einer Tafel oder Füllung von 87 cm Breite auf 60 cm Höhe. Auf dieser Füllung bildet der obere, 2 ο cm hohe Theil ABCD eine schwarze Tafel. Dicht unter derselben ist eine 85 cm lange Leiste e f angebracht. Unterhalb dieser auf der linken Seite befinden sich ebenfalls Leisten α ag h, welche 5 cm von einander entfernt sind und für eine Addition von zwei zweistelligen Zahlen dienen, wobei die weiter unten beschriebenen Rechenmarken zwischen die Leisten eingeschoben werden,

Dieser Markenkasten k I befindet sich unterhalb der Leisten nn, ist 85 cm lang, 10 cm breit und 7 cm tief. Er enthält π Fächer«, auf deren Vorderseite die Zahlen 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, ο sowie vor dem letzten ein Komma (,) abgebildet sind. Jedes Fach enthält 5 Marken mit derselben Zahl wie die vorn abgebildete. Die fünf Marken mit dem Komma dienen dazu, auf dem Zähler die Zahlen in Abschnitte von drei Stellen zu trennen oder sie durch 10, 100, 1000 u. s. w. zu multipliciren oder zu dividiren.
