In the patent specification 251844 is a process for the preparation of chromable diazo dyes from one molecule of resorcinol and two. Molecules of such o-diazophenols described which Contain nitro or halogen groups or both, but not contain sulfo groups.
It has been shown that similar, surprisingly even more genuine dyes can be obtained can occur if one combines a molecule of resorcinol in an alkaline solution on the one hand with a diazosulfonic acid of the benzene or naphthalene series, e.g. B. p-Diazobenzenesulfonic acid, i-Diazonaphatalin-4-sulfonic acid, or with the Diazo compounds of those monoazo dyes which, by combining suitable diazo bodies, such as i-diazonaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid, p-diazobenzenesulfonic acid, o-diazophenol, with a-naphthylamine sulfonic acid Cleve arise, and on the other hand with a molecule of an o-diazophenol or a diazotized monoazo dye from an o-diazophenol and a-naphthylamine sulfonic acid Cleve.
Although the dyes obtained in this way have one or more sulfo groups and sometimes even do not contain any o-oxyazo radical directly bound to the resorcinol, they are characterized by excellent fastness properties. While the dyes of patent 251844 deliver brown tones in direct coloration that cannot withstand the fulling and potting test at all, the colorations achieved with the new products in an acidic bath show in the Milling and potting samples already have an authenticity that can meet medium demands; even in riachchromised colorations, the present dyes prove to be and potting fastness superior to those of patent 251844. In addition, you can according to the present process more versatile shades of brown from the lively red or. Achieve yellow brown to the deepest chocolate brown.
Auf Wolle gibt der Farbstoff gelbbraune Töne, die beim Nachchromieren in walk- und pottingechtes Nußbraun übergehen.24.5 parts of 100 percent naphthionate are diazotized and allowed to run, with vigorous stirring, into a solution of 10.6 parts of resorcinol and 35 parts of soda in 150 parts of water at 0 ° to 2 °. After one hour, adds the diazo solution of 14.4 parts of o-amino-pchlorphenol and stirred at 5 0 not exceeding temperature until the diazo compound disappeared; excess soda must be present until the end. The dye is salted out, filtered and, after drying, is a dark powder that dissolves in water with a yellow-brown color, in concentrated sulfuric acid with a blue-red color. On wool, the dye gives yellow-brown tones, which change to walnut-brown and potting-proof when re-chrome-plated.
Way diazotized with 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite and with a solution of 25 parts of the sodium salt of Cleves acid 100 percent and 10 parts of crystallized sodium acetate in 250 parts Water combined. The partially excreted monoazo dye is made by addition precipitated from hydrochloric acid and table salt, pressed, made into a paste with 200 parts of water and 6.9 parts
The diazotization is complete after several hours; the diazo compound is entirely deposited and is coupled to the at 5 0 cooled solution of 11 parts of resorcinol and 50 parts of sodium carbonate in 250 parts of water. After 2 hours, the diazo compound composed of 15.4 parts of p-nitroaminophenol and, if necessary, soda is added to the resulting dye solution until it has an alkaline reaction. After the diazo compounds have disappeared, it is acidified, salted out, filtered and dried. The dye is a brown, shiny bronze powder that dissolves in water with a yellow-red color, and in concentrated sulfuric acid with a bronze-brown color. In direct dyeing on wool it gives a lively orange-brown, after-chrome-plated a very millet-proof brown-red.
The diazo compound from 15.4 parts of p-nitroo-aminophenol is in weak hydrochloric acid solution with 25 parts of the sodium salt of Cleves acid 100 percent by several hours Coupled stirring, the monoazo dye filtered and, as indicated in Example 2, diazotized and combined with 11 parts of resorcinol as a soda-alkali. After stirring for one hour the diazo compound from 24.5 parts of naphthionate is allowed to run in 100 percent and salted after coupling is complete, presses and dries. You win a dark, shiny one Powder that dissolves in water with reddish brown, in concentrated sulfuric acid with reddish brown Color dissolves. On wool, the new dye creates reddish-brown tones in an acidic bath of good flexing fastness, after treatment with chromium potash you get a real dark brown with a nice overview.
Wolle wird in saurem Bade rötlich dunkelbraun angefärbt, und zwar ist die Färbung vollkommen walkecht, gut potting- und lichtecht; durch Nachchromieren entsteht ein tiefes Schokoladenbraun, das vollständig walk-, potting- und lichtecht ist.19.9 parts of picric acid are made with 6.9 parts Sodium nitrite and 15 parts of hydrochloric acid and diazotized with a solution of 25 parts Cleves acid sodium salt coupled weakly acidic 100 percent in 250 parts of water, whereby the monoazo dye separates out as a dark, crystallized precipitate. He will diazotized as in Example 2 and combined with 11 parts of resorcinol; the resulting disazo dye is in a soda-alkaline solution again with the diazo compound of 19.9 parts Picric acid combined, acidified, salted out, pressed and dried. The new Dye is a dark, green, glossy powder that turns into carmine-red, dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a grass green color. Wool is dyed reddish dark brown in an acidic bath the coloring is completely whackfast, good potting and lightfast; by re-chrome plating the result is a deep chocolate brown that is completely mill, potting and lightfast.
