KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
The invention relates to a method for producing a mainly from cement and impregnated fibers made of wood or other materials to form from seamless floors, walls, ceilings and panels for building purposes or for furniture and the like
The invention consists mainly in the method for impregnating the fibrous materials,
ίο durch welche diese gegen das Eindringen von Feuchtigkeit und gegen Fäulnis vollständig geschützt werden, welche sie aber sonst in keiner Weise nachteilig verändert, so daß sie einerseits während und nach der Abbindung des Zements ihre Eigenschaften als Faserstoffe behalten, daß aber anderseits beim Abbinden des Zements auch ein festes Einschließen der Fasern durch diesen stattfindet.ίο by which this against the penetration of Moisture and completely protected against rot, which they are otherwise in not changed in any way, so that they are both during and after setting of the cement retain their properties as fibrous materials, but that on the other hand when they set the cement also tightly encapsulates the fibers.
Das Imprägnieren der mit Zement u. dgl.The impregnation of the cement and the like.
vermengten Holz- und anderen Fasern bei der Herstellung von Kunststeinplatten, Bodenbelägen u. dgl. im allgemeinen ist allerdings bereits bekannt, nur waren die Verfahren anderer Art, und der Zweck wurde in weniger vollkommener Weise erreicht als durch das vorliegende Verfahren.mixed wood and other fibers in the production of artificial stone slabs, floor coverings and the like in general, however, is already known, only the methods were different Kind, and the purpose was achieved in a less perfect way than by that present proceedings.
B. already proposed resin solutions for soaking the fibers or chips. However, these have the disadvantage that they cause the fibers to clump together, and it loses the loose structure that the mass must have, apart from that if better resins are used, the process becomes too expensive on top of that. It is too not possible to dry the sticky mass sufficiently. Similar to the resin solution The same applies to the impregnation of glue and water glass, which has also been proposed. Glue and water glass aggregate the fibers and still have the disadvantage that they release the water they contain to the dry fibers. The wet is but cannot be removed from these again by any drying process, since the fibrous materials already are in themselves very difficult to dry. Even more so with the after-drying process the clumping takes place. The water glass and glue are also affected by the moisture of the cement is dissolved again so that it cannot bind to the fibers. Further the impregnation of fibers with carbolineum has become known. This is though rot-resistant, but it is not suitable to make the fibers sufficiently water-repellent, especially as the liquid components of the carbolineum evaporate before use have to. Even the strong smell is a hindrance to the use of the carbolineum. None of these previously proposed means fulfills the purpose of producing a mass, which is supposed to unite the character of the stone with that of the wood, only approximately just as good as the present process, which uses wood and other fibers or bodies not only leave their advantageous properties intact, but these
noch vervollkommnet, dagegen die ungünstige Eigenschaft, ' Feuchtigkeit aus dem Zement aufzusaugen, beseitigt.still perfected, on the other hand, the unfavorable property, 'moisture from the cement suck up, eliminated.
Das geschmolzeneThe method consists in applying sawdust, wood flour, wood wool, asbestos or the like Fibers in a suitable container with constant turning or stirring to about 60 to 70 ° C. About 10 to 15 percent by weight of paraffin is then added added. This melts at the temperature given above, and then it takes place / further stirring instead. The melted one
,' Paraffin hat die Eigenschaft, die trockenen, erhitzten Fasern vollständig zu durchdringen.'Paraffin has the property of completely penetrating the dry, heated fibers.
The soaked ■ pulp is then cooled and mixed with cement and water. This creates a mass that is characterized by its low weight, great strength and durability which is also very malleable. Although the full Impregnation of the fibers by the paraffin makes them completely water-repellent makes, the latter prevents the intimate connection of the fibers with the Cement not. The fibers stretch a little when paraffin penetrates them and gain strength without becoming noticeably heavier. When the Cement they are then firmly enclosed by this, so that no cavities are formed can. It should also be mentioned that the consumption of paraffin is a proportionate is less and that, as a result, the process is very cheap.
