The invention relates to a process for the production of construction elements for the construction industry from cellulose-containing and / or mineral materials using residues from petroleum and / or carbon distillation, alkali and / or alkaline earth oxides and / or hydroxides, and optionally resins and / or foaming agents and / or other additives.
It is known that thermal insulation panels have been produced from cellulose-containing materials such as cork and various wood materials, and from minerals such as perlite and clay gravel (keramsite), using Portland cement, magnesia cement, gypsum, water glass, bitumen, pitch and synthetic resins as binders, such as urea / formaldehyde, cresol / formaldehyde and phenol / formaldehyde resins can be used.
Thermal insulation panels were produced from expanded or expanded cork, which can be obtained by expanding natural cork, using two methods.
In one of the two methods, the cork semolina is expanded at a temperature of 300 to 4000C as part of a pressing process. During the heat treatment, the cells swell, and at the same time resin melts out of the cork, which holds the grains together after cooling, whereby the thermal insulation panels known as expansit with a density of 160 kp / m3 are obtained.
In the second process, the expanded cork is hot-pressed with coal tar pitch as a binding agent to form boards called Supremit with a density of 200 kp / m3.
Furthermore, wood material cut into thin threads with a planing machine, wood shavings and sawdust from wood processing as well as fibrous waste from the textile industry, such as hemp waste, with Portland cement, magnesia cement or gypsum as a binding agent, were made of wooden shaving boards with a density of 620 to 680 kp / m3 and Made with urea / formaldehyde resins, cresol / formaldehyde resins or phenol / formaldehyde resins, wood chipboard with a density of 550 to 800 kp / m3 and wood fiber boards with a density of 250 to 370 kp / m3.
It is also known to use expanded perlite and Portland cement, water glass, urea / formaldehyde resins or bitumen as binders to produce thermal insulation materials with a density of 300 to 600 kgf / m3. From expanded clay gravel with binders such as Portland cement or pitch thermal insulation panels with a density of 600 to 1000 kp / m3 were produced.
One advantage of the Expansit plates is that they can be used up to temperatures of 100oC. On the other hand, their high production temperature and the high water absorption capacity of the finished product are disadvantageous.
An advantage of the Supremit plates is the low water absorption capacity and the fact that the product remains free from fungi. However, a disadvantage of these is that they can only be used up to a temperature of at most 50C.
Further disadvantages of the cork-based thermal insulation panels are their low compressive strength of 5 to 10 kp / cm2, their availability only in limited quantities and their high production costs.
The disadvantages of panels made from wood materials and binders such as Portland cement, magnesia cement and gypsum are the following: swelling due to moisture, high density and long production lead times.
Another disadvantage of the magnesia cement used as a binding agent is that chloride ions are released during the hardening process, as a result of which the finished product has a corrosive effect.
A disadvantage of the synthetic resin-bonded wood fiber, wood chip and wood shaving boards is their high water absorption capacity, which is why they are not suitable for permanent installation in the construction industry. The high production costs represent a further disadvantage. Therefore, these panels are currently being produced for the furniture industry.
A disadvantage of the perlite plates made with binders such as Portland cement, water glass or urea / formaldehyde resins is their high water absorption capacity. A disadvantage of the perlite (bitumen operlite) produced with bitumen as a binding agent is its extremely low compressive strength, which means that this product cannot be prefabricated but must be produced on the construction site. Another disadvantage of the same is that its long-term heat resistance is at most 50C.
With the help of the described process, none of the binders used for the cellulose-containing or mineral aggregates could be used to produce thermal insulation panels whose properties corresponded in every respect and which have a low volume weight, a corresponding thermal insulation capacity, a high compressive strength and a permanent heat resistance of at least 100oC.
The thermal insulation panels, which are manufactured with binders to be used in an aqueous medium, i.e. with Portland cement, magnesia cement, gypsum, water glass and with urea / formaldehyde resins, all have a high water absorption capacity, which reduces the thermal insulation capacity and compressive strength and thus limits the range of application of the panels .
The thermal insulation panels made with bitumen or pitch as a binder are only permanently heat-resistant up to temperatures of 50 to 600C and their compressive strength is low.
The aim of the invention is the production of components for the construction industry from cellulose-containing materials and / or minerals with good thermal insulation properties, heat resistance at least up to a temperature of 100 o C and high compressive strength and insensitivity to moisture, which at the same time have a low density.
The invention is based on the knowledge that when cellulosic and / or mineral materials are mixed at an appropriate temperature with residues from petroleum and / or coal distillation and optionally the melt of natural and / or synthetic resins, the cellulosic and / or mineral material and / or alkali metal and / or alkaline earth oxide and / or hydroxide is added to the distillation residue before mixing, the binder foams as a result of the release of short-chain hydrocarbons and the water vapor which are also produced during the chemical reaction between the distillation residue and the hydroxide or oxide its viscosity is greatly reduced, and thereby a uniformly thin coating of the particles of the cellulose-containing and / or mineral material can be achieved.
Another basis of the invention is the finding that as a result of the chemical reaction between the distillation residue and the hydroxide or oxide, a binder with a higher softening point is formed, the compressive strength of which after cooling is significantly higher than that of the starting materials used for the process.
The invention therefore relates to a process for the production of components for the construction industry from cellulose-containing and / or mineral materials using residues from petroleum and / or carbon distillation and alkali and / or alkaline earth oxides and / or hydroxides. Between the melt of the residues from the mineral oil and / or carbon distillation and the resin and the alkali metal hydroxide or the alkali metal hydroxide and / or the alkaline earth metal hydroxide or the alkaline earth metal hydroxide, a chemical reaction takes place at a temperature of 120 to 2500C, at which water vapor and lower hydrocarbons are released , from and the resulting binder foams up and its viscosity decreases, resulting in an even and thin coating on the existing cellulose-containing and / or mineral base material grains.
Components with the desired density, the required compressive strength and the necessary thermal insulation properties can be produced from the material obtained by thermoforming.
Known materials can be used as foaming agent, in particular ammonium carbonate which decomposes at 60 to 80 ° C, oxy-bis- (benzenesulfhydrazine) which decomposes at 150 to 160 ° C and N, N-dinitrosopentamethylenetetramine which decomposes at 200 ° C. The foaming agent is expediently applied to the cellulose-containing material and / or mineral and the whole is heated below the decomposition temperature of the foaming agent. In this case, the binding agent can also be applied by atomization.
The cellulose-containing materials are shredded to the appropriate size in known devices (such as choppers and hammer mills) before processing.
The method according to the invention can be carried out in any known heatable device equipped with a mixing device, for example in bitumen or asphalt mixing machines. The residues of the mineral oil and / or coal distillation are expediently stored warm in known facilities (such as prefabricated bitumen heaters).
The components are shaped zveckmässigerweise in metal templates, the desired compressive strength is achieved by hand or mechanical pressing.
The warm material can also be shaped using an extrusion press.
When the components are formed, a product with a density of 150 to 300 kp / m 3, the ultimate compressive strength of which is 1 to 50 kp / cm 2, can be produced by pressing using a pressure of 0.1 to 0.5 kp / cm2. When producing elements with higher compressive strength, depending on the base material, a pressure of 0.2 to 50 kp / cm2 is applied, in which case the ultimate compressive strength of the elements is also 50 to 250 kp / cm2 with a density of 300 to 600 kp / m3 can reach.
Metal plates, wood fiber boards, plastic plates, asbestos-cement plates, such as Eternit plates, and plastic or metal foils can be attached to one or both sides of the components produced according to the invention, in such a way that the warm material is formed on them or pressed together with them or the surfaces of the Elements are heated and the plates or foils mentioned are placed on them.
The structural elements produced according to the invention can be coated with known mortars, possibly plastic mortars, with synthetic resins and with various colors or dyes.
The components produced according to the invention can be reshaped after being heated to the appropriate temperature.
The method according to the invention enables, for the first time, the processing of cellulose-containing waste products, which arise during the production or processing of agricultural, forestry and industrial products, into components for the construction industry. These substances are just a burden to produce and their destruction is very expensive.
With the method according to the invention, technically or industrially usable products can be produced from waste materials, which also remedy deficiencies on an international scale, since they can be produced cheaply in large quantities.
The components produced according to the invention are good thermal insulation materials and are permanently heat-resistant up to at least 80 to 100 ° C and have a compressive strength of 10 to 250 kp / cm2 and a density of 150 to 600 kp / m3; they are insensitive to moisture, weak acids and alkalis and resist fungi and bacteria. Another advantage is that they can be plastered, disguised, colored or painted, sawed, nailed and glued and can withstand loads.
Another advantage of the construction elements produced according to the invention is their ability to be embedded in hot bitumen for roof insulation, as well as their accessibility and vapor removal, which properties can easily be achieved through their processing, whereby the elements can be completely isolated from the rainwater by tar paper. The components can be adapted to the curvature of the building when they are heated.
The elements with a compressive strength of 80 to 120 kp / cm2 can be used with advantage in floor coverings, as they can be glued to the surface of the concrete layers and also ensure good thermal insulation and sound absorption and can be laid without joints.
They can also be used in wet rooms for floor covering under parquet and mosaic paving.
The construction elements can be clad on both sides or plastered and used as partition walls, their low weight, good sound insulation and dimensional accuracy being further advantages. They can be used to advantage in cold stores because of their good thermal insulation, since they are insensitive to moisture and their installation can be carried out quickly and easily. With cladding on one or both sides, the components can be used to advantage for weekend houses. They are cheaper to use than wood as formwork for concreting, as they do not suck in moisture, which is why the concrete requires less pouring. Since they can be cut, sawed and nailed just like wood, their processing does not require any special specialist knowledge.
After they have been used as formwork, the elements can be reprocessed without being shredded beforehand, whereas the types of wood currently used are themselves unsuitable as heating material.
The invention is explained in more detail by means of the following examples, which are not to be interpreted as limiting.
