Description
The invention relates to a device for aerating liquids, in particular wastewater, with at least one surface aerator and a covering hood assigned to it, which has at least one edge area pulled down towards the liquid surface.
Depending on the type of aerator and the desired protective effect, the cover hood will surround the surface aerator on all sides or at least cover the area in which aerosol formation takes place due to the liquid jets thrown up by the aerator and their falling back onto the liquid surface, above the aerator air access openings and sufficient space for the liquid to be thrown up leave free, and only at a certain distance from the surface aerator have an edge area drawn down all around or at least on the downstream side of the aerator to the liquid surface. This edge area usually dips into the liquid surface in order to hermetically seal the covered space at this point, but it can also be advantageous to maintain a small distance to the liquid surface, which prevents the build-up of overpressure in the enclosed space, but the aerosol essentially cannot escape.
In the previously known devices of the type mentioned, the cover hoods are either attached to the surface aerator itself or to its supporting structure (bridge or the like). If the filling level in the aeration basin fluctuates or if the immersion depth of permanently installed surface aerators changes, the distance between the cover hood and the liquid surface or the immersion depth of its edge area also changes. It has now been found that, on the one hand, for optimally achieving the aerosol and soundproofing effect desired with the cover and, on the other hand, for the least possible impairment or even the best possible improvement of the ventilation effect of the surface aerator through the cover, an optimal distance between the edge of the cover and the liquid surface is advantageous is, (here as well as in the following, distance should be understood to mean both a distance above the surface of the liquid or the depth of immersion of a covering hood immersed in the liquid).
The object of the invention is to improve a device of the type mentioned in such a way that undesired changes in the position of the cover hood relative to the liquid surface cannot occur even with a changing fill level of the aeration basin and / or a changing immersion depth of the surface aerator.
To achieve this object, the invention provides that the cover hood or at least its edge area pulled down to the liquid surface is arranged to be movable in height relative to the surface aerator and that a device is provided for keeping the distance between the edge area of the cover hood and the liquid surface constant.
As a result, the cover hood is always evenly effective, regardless of the changing liquid level, swell or the like in the aeration basin and without prejudice to the possibility of changing the immersion depth of the surface aerator and thus its aeration performance in accordance with the respective oxygen demand. It cannot happen, as with the known devices, that with changing liquid level or changing immersion depth of the surface aerator, the edge of the cover hood either dips too far out of the liquid so that aerosol can escape, or dips too deep under the liquid and through its The damming effect affects the flow in the aeration basin and the aeration performance of the surface aerator.
Depending on the application, especially in adaptation to horizontal or vertical axis surface aerators, the entire cover hood or only its edge area drawn down to the surface of the liquid, the latter e.g. in the form of an articulated or flexible flap, can be moved in height. The device for keeping the distance from the liquid surface or the immersion depth constant preferably consists of one or more floats. In order to set a desired distance or a desired immersion depth, the connection between the cover hood and the float is preferably adjustable in height.
Ausführungsformen der Erfindung werden anhand der Zeichnungen erläutert:Embodiments of the invention are explained with reference to the drawings:

Fig. 3 und 4 zeigen im lotrechten Schnitt und in Vorderansicht einen horizontalachsigen Oberflächenbelüfter mit Abdeckhaube.3 and 4 show, in vertical section and in a front view, a horizontal-axis surface aerator with a cover.
Fig. 5 zeigt eine andere Ausführungsform einer Abdeckhaube für einen horizontalachsigen Oberflächenbelüfter.FIG. 5 shows another embodiment of a cover hood for a horizontal-axis surface aerator.
Fig. 6 zeigt einen lotrechten Schnitt ähnlich Fig. 1 einer anderen Ausführungsform.FIG. 6 shows a vertical section similar to FIG. 1 of another embodiment.
Der Oberflächenbelüfter 4 kann in dem Lager 3 höhenverstellbar gelagert sein, um seine Eintauchtiefe der gewünschten Belüftungsleistung entsprechend einzustellen.1 and 2, an aeration basin 1 is spanned by a bridge on which a vertical surface aerator 4 (aerating top) is mounted in a bearing 3, which is immersed in the liquid surface 7 and whose shaft 5 can be driven by a motor 6. The surface aerator 4 can be mounted in a height-adjustable manner in the bearing 3 in order to adjust its immersion depth in accordance with the desired aeration performance.
A truncated pyramid-shaped cover 10 is arranged above the surface aerator 4, which surrounds the shaft 5 of the surface aerator at a sufficient distance 11 to allow the air sucked in by the surface aerator to enter here, and the edge 12 of which is immersed under the liquid surface 7. The covering hood 10 is guided displaceably on two vertical guide rods 13, which protrude downward from the bridge 2, by means of guide openings 14 and is carried by floats 15 at its four corners. The connection 16 between the cover 10 and each float 15 is such that the cover 10 is supported by the float with a desired immersion depth of its edge 12. To change this immersion depth, each connection 16 can also be designed to be adjustable (in a manner not shown). In an advantageous manner, the cover 10 can also be guided by other devices instead of by means of the guide rods 13, for example with the aid of links in the form of a parallelogram.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4, a horizontal-axis surface aerator 23 (aerating roller) is mounted on a bridge 22 spanning a basin 21, which rotates in the direction of arrow 24 and generates a powerful outflow of aerated water to the right in FIG. 3. In this outflow area, a cover 25 is articulated on the bridge 22 in a hinge 26, the edge area 27 of which is immersed under the water level 20 at a desired distance from the surface aerator 23. A constant immersion depth is ensured by a float 28, which is preferably rotatably mounted in a recess in the edge area 27 of the cover 25 and supports the cover 25. Depending on the length of the surface aerator 23, two or more articulated cover hoods 25 with floats 28 can also be arranged next to one another according to FIG. 4.
Die von einer nicht dargestellten Brücke getragene Abdeckhaube 30 überdeckt den ganzenIn the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4, the left side of the surface aerator 23 in FIG Splash effects and aerosol formation are less to be feared. If desired, however, the surface aerator can also be enclosed essentially on all sides by the cover hood. Such an embodiment is shown in FIG. The cover 30 carried by a bridge (not shown) covers the whole
Rotor and leaves only air inlet openings 31 free. On their two edges drawn down in the direction of the liquid surface 20, movable flaps 33, 34 are mounted in hinges 32, which flaps immerse into the liquid surface. The constant immersion depth of the downstream flap 33 is ensured by a float 35. The flap 34 on the upstream side can also have such a float or, for example, also consist of floatable material itself or be designed as a float.
Numerous changes and deviations from the embodiments described are possible within the scope of the invention. Thus, instead of being rigid, articulated flaps, the edge areas of the cover can also be designed as flexible flaps in the manner of rubber aprons or the like, the edges of which are supported by floats. Instead of a constant immersion depth, it is also possible to maintain a constant distance between the edge of the cover hood and the surface of the liquid. The device for maintaining the constant distance or the constant immersion depth can consist of a more complex device instead of floats, e.g. a lifting mechanism, the drive of which is controlled by a sensor for the liquid surface and which raises or lowers the hood according to the liquid level.
It is not necessary for all of the edge areas of the hood lying in the area of the liquid surface to be kept constant in their position relative to the liquid surface. It is often sufficient to provide this measure only on the downstream side of a surface aerator, e.g. in Fig. 5 on the right-hand side. The left flap 34 in FIG. 5 can be arranged in such a way that it is only slightly immersed in the liquid, or it can be designed so lightly that it is inclined due to the flow pressure and forms an acute angle with the liquid surface. This enables foam or floating sludge to be carried along by the flow of the liquid under the flap.
In an advantageous manner, the height-adjustable cover 10 according to the invention can be firmly connected to floating horizontal or vertical-axis surface aerators. In FIG. 6, in the case of a vertical-axis surface aerator 4, the floats 15 are firmly connected to the covering hood 10 via struts 17 to the bridge 2.
