Abstract
...U.S.WThe invention relates to a final storage container for radioactive waste, consisting of several nested containers, at least one of which has a double-lid closure system, by means of which it can be connected to the loading opening of a loading cell, this first container being a conventional, so-called lost container without / or with special shielding, such as a roll hoop barrel or a container for submerging in the sea. A further second container is arranged in the first container, which is designed as a thick-walled shielding container with / without an additional gas-tight closure and is fixed in the first container in the usual way, e.g. by means of a concrete or bitumen filling. The special advantage is that with these containers it is possible to store considerably larger tritium activities or nuclear fuel activities in the deep storage site than is possible with the conventional containers. It can be used to transport radioactive waste in lost shields, which previously could only be transported in shielded containers such as large collective transport containers. In addition, it is possible to store radioactive waste in higher concentrations, which because of its special problems for the deep storage site in the form of a salt dome could only be stored in very limited quantities. ...ETC
Description
Die Erfindung bezieht sich gattungsgemäß auf ein für die Endlagerung einsetzbares Behälteraggregat für radioaktive Abfallstoffe, — mitThe invention relates generically to a container unit for radioactive waste that can be used for final storage Waste materials, - with
einem inneren, dickwandigen Abschirmbehälter aus Stahlguß,an inner, thick-walled shielded container made of cast steel,
einem Außenbehälter, undan outer container, and
Verschlußdeckeln für den inneren Abschirmbehälter und den Außenbehälter,Closing lids for the inner shielded container and the outer container,
— Es versteht sich, daß der Deckel des Abschirmbehälters als Abschirmdeckel ausgeführt ist.wherein the inner shielding container is fixed in the outer container by a potting compound, which is also the closure lid of the inner shielding container. - It goes without saying that the lid of the shielded container is designed as a shielding cover.
In the known generic container unit (DE-OS 24 18 518), the outer container is a box from steel. A box wall welded onto the box is to be regarded as the closure cover. The potting compound is a graphite filling and serves to shield neutrons. Measures for contamination-free Connection of the outer container to a Bcladc / ellc is missing. The known embodiment is therefore limited in application terms to the fact that the inner shielding cover is used is already set up free of contamination. For this purpose, a shielding cover is in a shielding cover receptacle Deeply welded in, if otherwise the inner shielded container cannot be cast without contamination is. In similar container units (DE-OS 23 38 480) with a roll hoop barrel as the inner container is a Contamination-free casting of this roller tire barrel in an external concrete container is not easy possible.
In practice, there is no container unit that can be used for final disposal and that is different for waste materials Radioactivity is usable and easy to handle without the risk of contamination. The invention is based on the knowledge that to be connected to the generic container assembly can.
abschirmenden Umhüllungsbehälters ausgebil-The invention is based on the object of developing the generic container unit so that even when using different outer containers surrounding the inner shielding container, which are designed for different radioactivity of the waste materials, contamination-free potting of the inner shielding container in the outer container can take place without the inner shielded container is set up free of contamination beforehand.
In order to achieve this object, the invention teaches that the outer container can be connected to a loading cell with a double lid system for contamination-free connection to the loading parts and that it has an outer container closure lid, which is designed as a lower part of the double lid system that is loosely connected to the outer container, and that on the Außenbehältcrverschlußdeckel a further closure part is arranged, which is placed as a lid on the outer container or designed as a potting part or cover of an additional, shielding enveloping container.
Container assemblies for radioactive waste materials with a double cover arrangement are per se for other purposes, although known in connection with loading cells (GB-PS 12 34 020). However, that has to be further developed the generic container units contributed just as little as the fact that at Contaminated rooms with a lock-like effect of double décor systems for connecting the container and apparatus are known.
In detail exist within the scope of the invention several options for further training and development. The outer container can be used as a roll hoop barrel be executed. But you can also run the outer container as a shielded container made of gray cast iron. 1st If the shielded container is designed as a roll-hooped barrel, the enveloping container can be designed as a cast steel container be. The cladding container can, however, also be designed as a permanent concrete cladding.
Die erreichten Vorteile sind darin zu sehen, daß bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Behälteraggregat auch bei Einsatz von den inneren Abschirmbehälter umgebenden, unterschiedlichen äußeren Behältern, die für unterschiedliche Radioaktivität der Abfallstoffe ausgelegt sind, ein kontaminationsfreies Vergießen des innerenThe advantages achieved are to be seen in the fact that in the case of the container assembly according to the invention, too Use of the inner shielding container surrounding, different outer containers, which for different Radioactivity of the waste materials are designed to allow a contamination-free shedding of the interior
W) Abschirmbehälters im Außenbehälter erfolgen kann, ohne daß zuvor der innere Abschirmbehälter kontaminationsfrei eingerichtet wird.W) shielded container can be made in the outer container, without the inner shielding container being set up free of contamination beforehand.

In all of the embodiments shown in the figures, a shielding container 1 is provided in each case. The shielding container 1 is suitable as a storage container in a RoUreifenfaß or in one made of gray cast iron Outer container 2 to be used. The shielding container 1 has a wall of approx. 120 mm Cast steel. The shielding container 1 can have two embodiments. In the first embodiment it is used as a pure shielding container without further processing. In this case, in the shielding container 1 only introduced radioactive waste that does not contain any gaseous substances, such as B. tritium hand over. In a second, externally largely identical embodiment, the shielding container 1 provided with a machined sealing surface 3, which is supplemented by a metallic seal 4. To this The shielding container 1 can withstand very high pressures. Both container shapes are external identical. In the second embodiment, the shielding container 1 is for receiving tritium-containing or plutonium-containing waste materials with activities above the currently valid limits of the emplacement conditions are in the repository, suitable.
The shielding container 1 has a usable interior space 5 of approximately 12.5 dm 3 and is closed with a closure cover 6 held by means of screws. In the, in the F i g. 1, the shielding container 1 is set in the outer container 2 and fixed in it as a potting compound 7 by means of a concrete or bitumen filling. This outer container 2 has a usable interior space 8 of approx. 102 dm J and weighs approx. 3 t with the shielding container 1 set. This dimension is given by the weight limit prescribed for the sinking of the sea. The outer container 2 consists of gray cast iron.
The outer container 2 is closed with an outer container closure lid 9 and a closure part 10, the closure part 10 according to FIG. 1 a normal one fastened with screws II and with a Seal 12 is sealed cover. The inner outer container cap 9 is the lower, lost part of a not described here, but known Double cover system for the contamination-free connection to openings of contaminated Rooms such as B. loading cells or the like. The outer container cap 9 remains in the final storage in the outer container 2 after it has fulfilled its function during the loading process. The outer contour the outer container 2 is chosen so that it can be connected to the facility of a loading cell. For this purpose, this outer container 2 is provided on the inside with a groove 13 in the upper part, in which the locking mechanism 14 of the outer container closure lid 9 engages. The sealing surface of the seal 12 corresponds roughly that of a 200 Itr. Rolling hoop barrel. The outer container 2 is given away with hanging eyelets 15, such as they are intended for the sinking of the sea. However, it can also be used in the suggested manner in the Endlugerstätte be handled.
A shielding container 1 - as already described - is more conventional in a roll hoop barrel Type as an outer container 2. as it is currently mainly used in final disposal, by means of the Potting compound 7 fixed. The casting compound 7 can be made of concrete of different densities as well as bitumen or glass ceramic material. The roll hoop barrel 2 is similar to the outer container 2 according to FIG. 1 closed with an outer container lid 9 of a double lid system, not shown, which is screwed together with the barrel support ring 16, flange 17 of the roll hoop barrel 2 in a sealing manner
Der Abschirmbehälter 1 in dem Rollreifenfaß 2 oder in einem ähnlichen, nicht dargestellten Behältnis, ist nun in eine zusätzliche Abschirmung in Form eines weiterenThe shielding container 1 in the roll hoop barrel 2 or in a similar container, not shown, is now into an additional shield in the form of another
is Umhüllungsbehälters 18 eingebracht. The enveloping container 18 with a lid serves as a closure part 10 here as a shield for the storage of medium-active waste materials with a higher dose rate in a deep storage facility. It is therefore built without a seal so that in each case a tight seal in the cladding container 18 Outer container, e.g. B. a roll hoop barrel 2 must be set. In order to make the wrapping container 18 inexpensive, the closure is made by two tangentially arranged bolts 19. In this way, a precise machining of the enveloping container 18 can be avoided. The wrapping container 18 is with the The set roll hoop drum 2 weighs approx. 5 t and thus corresponds to the permissible limits for storage of lost container aggregates.
Die Doppeldeckelkonstruktion des Fasses entspricht der gemäß der F i g. 1 und 2.A similar, in principle the same embodiment is shown in FIG. 3. Here is the one designed as a roll hoop barrel Outer container 2, like the one in FIG. 2 shown, not designed as a cast steel container, but it is in a so-called lost concrete casing as Umhüllungsbehältcr 18 firmly concreted in, which by means of the cast eyelets 20 is handled. The space above the roll hoop barrel 2 with the one in it Shielding container 1 in the concrete casing 18 is poured in as a closure part 10 by means of a concrete filling. The double lid construction of the barrel corresponds to that according to FIG. 1 and 2.
The closure part 10 in FIG. 1 on the outer container 2 can also be welded gas-tight to the container body will. The shielding container 1 can also be used for additional sealing with a radiation-resistant Seal made of copper or soft iron can be provided.
